THE FIELD OF LAW
They take to the field.
The courtroom is filled.
The judge pounds his gavel.
The ref blows his whistle.
Tie up your boots.
Adjust your wig and suit.
Kick-off the game.
Witness says his name.
Start to cross-examine.
A cross to the byline.
"Why did you shoot?"
Controls it and shoots.
He dribbles the defender.
They corner the defendant.
A shot and a winner.
It's clear who's the winner.
The game is ended.
The judgment is given.
Two different sports.
The same sort of feeling.
The case has been won.
The game is long gone.
"Not exciting" they say.
"Why wear a robe all day?".
"All is black and white"
"Very dour and so gray"
But really, I say.
Name a job more exciting.
Than saving a man from the hangman.
Due reward to a bad man.
Give a family their home back.
There's a real defender
Sounds too much like a hero.
But it's exactly what we do
Two teams and an umpire.
The stakes are way higher.
There you fight for some points.
Here you fight for much more.
Really nice mate, upvoted.
