The Assault Rifle Ban of 2018 Bill... H. R. 5087

Introduced 02/26/2018 to congress, sponsored by Representative David N. Cicilline (Democrat), backed by 174 current democratic congress members. This bill proposes a ban on semi-automatic rifles and shotguns. While also limiting magazine capacity to 10 rounds. Attachments such as foregrips, metal rails, folding stocks, barrel shrouds, and threaded barrels are ALL characteristics that this bill would use to define a "assault weapon"

There is no other way to put this, this bill is not only a outrageous trampling of the second amendment, it is also a bill created by democrats using a serious tragedy to strip law-abiding citizens from the right to defend themselves from enemies foreign AND domestic.

Banning semi-automatic rifles will do nothing to stop mass shootings, most mass shootings in the past used pistols or shotguns, only a rare few have actually used an AR-15 in the shooting. Every year around 30,000 people die related to gun violence. 50% of those deaths are due to suicide, so around 15,000 deaths per year are from actual shooting with a gun. The overwhelming majority of gun deaths are caused by handguns. Which also use semi-automatic mechanisms to fire the firearm.

If we allow this bill to pass and infringe our 2nd amendment, will the left continue to push for more? We know they do not intend to stop until regular law-abiding citizens are not able to purchase or possess firearms to defend themselves and their families. This is outrageous and the fact the it is all democrats supporting this unconstitutional ban on firearms shows where their true intentions lie.
