We have now learned all the usual Major seventh chords but, as you might have guessed, there are Minor versions of these seventh chords as well.

We’ll start with the E Minor 7. Look at the image below.

Compare that with the E Major 7 and you see that they are quite similar. Just like the E Major 7 was the same as the E Major with your fourth finger on the seventh note of the scale, the E Minor 7 is the same as the E Minor chord with the same seventh note played by the fourth finger.

Practice playing the the E Minor 7 chord and then replace the E and E Major 7 in the blues progression you learned two lessons ago with the E Minor and E Minor 7 chord. This will help your ears notice the difference between the Major and Minor chord progressions.
