Firstly, the Snapdragon 835 is what we’ve come to expect from newly launched flagships, as it is the flagship processor by Qualcomm for this year. It is smaller and uses less power than the previous Snapdragon 820. With an improved Adreno 540 GPU for faster graphics rendering and higher resolution display support, it’s the best on offer for this device.

The LG V30 is running a 2:1 aspect ratio with an OLED display and a resolution of 2880×1440, and it’s coming with LG’s new UX 6.0+. This is optimised specifically for the device with a user interface designed around this display ratio. This however means that with this release, there is no longer a second screen, and features like the “Floating bar” have replaced it instead. It is confirmed to support Daydream VR.

The device is also packing a 32-Bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, an upgraded version of the one in the V20, and earphones from B&O PLAY. The audio is powered by the ESS Sabre ES9218P digital-to-analog converter. There are equalization options preinstalled and along with this, LG is including Master Quality Audio (MQA) decoding. This is the first smartphone to include MQA support after Tidal introduced support for it back in January. The microphone is also claimed to provide a higher quality sound, as expected from LG given recent devices. The company is really focusing a lot on sound quality for this release, targeting those of you who enjoy consuming media on your phones.

The camera itself also may prove to be exceptional. With an F1.6 aperture, the lowest ever in a smartphone, more light can be let in with the shutter open for less time. This, coupled with the glass lens, means the potential for great photos is something that LG would be crazy not to take full advantage of.

The device is also IP68 dust and water resistance rated. This means it’s protected from harmful dust and is protected from immersion in water for up to 1 metre in depth.

The device launching with Android 7.1.2 makes sense, as Android Oreo has just launched, but hopefully we see the software upgrade from LG soon.
LG V30 Release Date & Price

The South Korean phone maker has set the release date for Thursday September 21st in South Korea. After that it will launch in North America, the rest of Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. We have no release dates for the other regions. There is also no price announced yet. The LG V30+ will also not be released everywhere, with LG stating it will be released to “limited markets”. Hopefully it’ll be released elsewhere soon, as this device has certainly caught the attention of many with its amazing specs. The camera has the potential to be one of the best we’ve seen on a phone so far, and with the amazing sound output too this is certainly the media fiend’s phone. If you consume a lot of media on your phone and take a lot of photos, keep your eye on this upcoming release!Alleged-LG-V30-Press-Render-Gives-Us-Our-Closest-Look-Yet-810x298_c.jpg
