voting with your wallet and the LGBT

in #lgbt6 years ago

Many people believe that "voting with your wallet" is able to make change. Capital accumulation often means those that subject their workers to the cheapest conditions often win, and those that do not often have more expensive products that the working class across the world will never be able to afford.

Any difference between people that is not exploitable is often ground down. The same is true for authoritarian capitalism as well. The problem is that this support only comes when its "trendy", and often has no real value. Youtube changes its icon to the pride colors, while doing nothing about transphobia. Places like twitter are actively banning trans people, while allowing TERFs free reign.

For real social change we must work together as a union. We cannot make change as individuals

Shallow neo-liberalism making the exploitation palatable.
