Anarchist to Abolitionist: A Bad Quaker's Journey
The So Called Liberty Movement
There is a relatively large group of people worldwide that self-identify as "the liberty movement". They are quite diverse in their philosophy, their goals, their strategies, their lifestyles, their talents, their wealth and social status, their levels of education, their understanding of how the world works, and their levels of self-discipline. They are also diverse in their levels of honesty and gullibility.Anarchist to Abolitionist: A Bad Quaker's Journey
That last line is glaringly obvious if you spend very much time around them, while using an honest approach to judge their behavior.
The vast majority of people that I have encountered, calling themselves "the liberty movement", are good people with the best of intentions. However, they allow a very small, dishonest element made up of failed Republican politicians, thinly veiled national socialists, outright thieves, con men, bullies, and even some violent sexual predators to remain among their rank, along with at least one murderer, and perhaps more. As is usually the case, the scum tend to rise to the top, and they have done so in "the liberty movement". These scum seem to have all the classic tendencies of sociopaths, and therefore often surround themselves with devoted followers who view them as heroes.
The good people within the movement seem so desperate for members that they, on a whole, refuse to keep their ranks clean of these parasites. Which, of course, makes their whole movement look bad. It also divides them into squabbling cliques that blindly and fiercely defend their hero against anyone from within the movement or without, that points out the deeds of these sociopathic scum.
I must tread carefully here, as I don't want to sound bitter or angry, because I am neither. I tried very hard to help the good people of "the liberty movement", but they are determined to protect and maintain the parasites that feed upon it. So, for this reason, in 2017, I had to separate myself from "the liberty movement", as I couldn't maintain a clean conscious while associating with people who embrace such vile creatures.
There are proven cases and even court documents showing that prominent and respected libertarian leaders, famous politicians, public speakers, and Internet personalities, have been guilty of rape, violence, theft, extortion, threats, election fraud, bribery, and lies. Money scams have been uncovered that generated millions of dollars, in several cases draining good people of their life savings, and yet the perpetrators remain in good favor among "the liberty movement".
Instances of alt-right bigotry, hate speeches quoting Adolf Hitler, and respected libertarians having co-membership in racist hate groups, have all been uncovered, yet "the liberty movement" still embraces these vile people and continues to financially support them and pay them to give speeches at their events. Freedom cannot be achieved by embracing or even tolerating such people.
In early 2019, a young activist was organizing a liberty/anarchy event to coincide with a much larger liberty/anarchy event that was operated by a known con man in the same Mexican city. Gunmen arrived at the young activist's home and shot him dead, while seriously injuring two other activists. The known con man immediately jumped in front of the media and declared the shooting to be a drug cartel-related event, even though everyone close to the situation knew drug cartels had nothing to do with the killing. Still, prominent "leaders" or "celebritarians," as they are known within the movement, attended the con man's event in the shadow of the murder. Apparently, so long as the speaking fee is high enough, the celebritarians will step over the blood stains to get their honorarium checks.
I'm not saying this con man had anything to do with the murder, he likely didn't. But he was quick to take advantage of the free publicity by standing in the blood of the dead, while the pain was still fresh in the hearts of the remaining family. Sometime later, he "retracted" his statements, as if that mattered.
In addition to the herds of con artists feeding on the gullible in "the liberty movement", there's a glaring lack of judgment among liberty-oriented Internet web sites, who feverishly link to other sites, no matter how poorly researched, poorly written, or poorly edited its articles are, so long as the web site is slightly "liberty" sounding. In doing so, it takes away any legitimacy the message of liberty may have had at the original web site.
The typical criticism of police in the US today revolves around the argument of the "bad apple". When an incidence of police brutality or corruption is revealed, the police supporters claim that the one cop is just a bad apple and the rest should not be judged based on him. However, that indicates they don't understand the principle that one bad apple spoils the whole barrel. This saying is very old and is true, based on placing apples in a barrel for long term storage. If you allow just one infected apple in the barrel, it will, in time, infect every apple. The same is true with police. They protect their fellow police and, in doing so, they are all infected by his misdeeds.
Libertarians are very good at explaining the bad apple principle when it applies to police. However, due to the rampant hypocrisy within "the liberty movement," they fail to apply the principle to themselves. It seems they have no problem shining the light of truth on the blemishes of others, while failing to look in the mirror to check their own infected faces.
T.E. Lawrence, in the classic movie, Lawrence of Arabia, said, "Sherif Ali, so long as the Arabs fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people, a silly people - greedy, barbarous, and cruel, as you are." I have said the same about "the liberty movement". However, the infighting is a symptom of the bigger problem of allowing and protecting the bad apples. Until "the liberty movement" cleans its own house, it has no rightful place in criticizing anyone else, and it most certainly has no ability to lead a movement toward freedom. Therefore, they remain a little people, a silly people - greedy, barbarous, and cruel. But they do so without me. I will not be a part to their foolishness.

Ants do not have philosophical discussions, in which ant society segregates into good and evil, right and wrong, activist and do-nothings. Some people form groups with the same traits. Members don't think critically, but simply cheer at the appropriate moments, believe what they're told, and pony up their share. This is the nature of eusociality, and it is useful to ant queens, queen bees, and psychopathic banksters and their pet politicians.
Rational folks discuss matters, and, even though they may have nearly identical goals, enemies, and ways of life, will discover areas of disagreement that prevent them from being in perfect alignment regarding every possible policy. That is the nature of freedom, reason, and intelligence, and it fractures the social power of every group and movement rational people undertake.
It is easy to see how herds of sheeple are able to be used via the state to vote for any policy or platform desired by pathological manipulators, and why folks that seek freedom, justice, and the American way are fractured into squabbling and irrelevant fragments unable to present democratic unity regarding any policy or platform. This is a fundamental flaw in philosophical underpinnings of democratic political systems, and it will naturally result in tyranny inevitably.
The state, like all institutions, gains it's power through parasitization of many individuals, whether members or subjects. As technological advance and development have proceeded, individuals have gained greater power with each advance, but as institutions focus a bit of the power of many individuals, institutions have been able to maintain a power advantage over individuals.
Today, decentralization is the cutting edge of tech advance across every field of industry. We seem to have reached or crossed a threshold in which institutional power and parasitization is no longer able to be increased, and means of production suitable to individuals are becoming more suitable and widely dispersed throughout the population, dramatically increasing the power of individuals versus institutions. Were this trend to simply be allowed to continue, individuals would adopt more and more decentralized means of production, make stuff themselves every bit as good as factories run by experts, and eliminate parasitic extraction of their wealth, eventually rendering institutions obsolete and people free.
I'm pretty sure psychopaths focusing the proceeds of parasitic institutional power on themselves aren't going to simply allow that to happen. Like cattle, humanity are being domesticated for the benefit of their owners, and cattle that are unruly are culled. Automation also is reducing the need for herds, unto negligibility. Genocide, which psychopaths have no natural objection to on humane grounds, is becoming more and more likely as it becomes more and more possible to generate goods and services without herds of productive workers.
It is critically important that free people undertake decentralized means of production to eliminate parasitization of their wealth and effect the security of their families, communities, and property. While war and violence isn't the only way to contest for power, it usually becomes that contest, and it is necessary to prepare for it while seeking peace and freedom.
We need to help one another, even if we cannot completely form agreement on all policies, as folks alone against armies lose.
Thanks!
