RE: I am starting a Libertarian club on campus.
For example I plan on structuring meetings by having a topic of the week, introduce legislation corresponding(ideally the ones kept out of media like securing America’s future act), have an open discussion on people’s stance regarding the legislation/issue, and discuss if we can take action how can we raise awareness and do so. For meetings that would have a guest speaker it would be in place of legislation. I am a strong believer me in free thought, and I want to essentially offer people a source for information. I don’t want to be affiliated with YAL, because I don’t want to have to oblige by their focus of the semester and endorse all that they do. I really want to give people a place where they can feel free, and fight for that freedom. There is more to being free than freedom of speech.
