The only person you can depend on is yourself. Humans believed we are the smartest species on earth, with deficiency, though. But one of the dumbest things that we actually do in our lives is depend on other people. We don't realize we can only depend on, or trust in, ourselves.

People are afraid to look at the mirror in life, they are afraid to accept the truth about themselves and about what is going on; thus, they take the easy way out, just like they do with everything else, and depend on others for happiness, opportunities and a better life.
They failed to know that happiness is their sole responsibility.

Actually, dependency is not a weakness. It’s actually healthy, as long as you can keep it balanced with independence. We are built to survive on our own, yet simultaneously could not stay sane if isolated indefinitely.

They may let you down atleast once in the relationship due to human nature - born to make mistake and poor decision from time to time. You have to keep in mind that they have their life to live.
