Accept What life OFFers you!!!...😀 😂

in #life7 years ago

Life is a long journey of many ups and downs...people are different in their own ways..at times they are not the way you wish thay were and It's normal to wish that others were different, just like it's normal to wish that you, yourself, were different (e.g., thinner, richer, wiser). It's fine to try to influence others in skillful, ethical ways. But problems come when we tip into fault-finding, or any other kind of struggle.

I realized this pretty much early way back in 2013 when I was that bossy judgemental girl who wanted people to live up to her expectations. Sooner I happened to be a victim of one of the incident (don't prefer mentioning it) that became the turning point of my life...It was then i decided to take up this desicion..

"ACCEPT PEOPLE THE WAY THEY ARE"

What do I mean by this?

By accepting people the way they are I dont mean by agreeing to them, approving of them, waiving your own rights. You can still take appropriate actions to support yourself. All you have to do is accept the reality of the other person. You may not like it, you may not prefer it, you may feel sad or angry about it, but at a deeper level, you are at peace with it. That alone is a blessing. And sometimes, your life will turn for the better and this is the reality. When we accept others as they are, we give them the space to find their own path and to learn their own truth. Just because we accept and love others as they are, does not mean that we have to participate in their stories or mentalities.

With acceptance and compassion, come healthy boundaries...

If you’re struggling in a situation with another person, try switching your mindset to allow them to just be where there are on their path in this moment. Don’t try to change them, don’t allow yourself to get wrapped up in their story. Simply accept. Notice what happens and you will be amazed to see the results....IT DOES WORK..

Clearly I have a lot of work to do when it comes to accepting others -- especially those closest to me. It's so easy to abstractly think of yourself as an accepting person, but when it comes to your daily interactions, really pay attention to them and ask yourself

If you are accepting others as they are.

Are you really accepting them?

Are you really not thinking your way of doing things is the best way?

If you find that you're not as accepting of others as you'd like to be, think about this matter and see if it does not help you to be a more accepting, more loving person. And remember: the only way to live a positive life is to accept what is something you certainly can't do if you don't accept others for who they are.
