A Month Of Art To Keep You Glued To Your Seats!

in #life5 years ago (edited)

With only 3 days remaining for the World Watercolor Month to commence, I also managed to set aside some art challenges to take on and also share them here for those of you who might be interested. Most of them have no restrictions regarding the media which makes it accessible to a lot more artists.

1. Downtown

I was intrigued by the name itself and the idea of urban art. I have been dipping my toes into urban sketching/ painting and have loved doing it so far. For those of you who want to show your plein air skills or simply the love for urban landscape this one sounds quite interesting.

Along with this all the above mentioned winners will get their artwork published in the December/January issue of Southwest Art! Sounds pretty exciting doesn’t it? If it does, you can check out this link for details on entering the contest.

3. Botanicals

Something very different to my taste and habit of painting. There are very few paintings and sketches where I have attempted to create plant life. In fact there was a time when leaf painting felt so intimidating to me that I did not try it for a long period! Inspite of that, I love watching artists creating those perfect flowers and leafs with just a few brush strokes as if it was a child's play.

Entry Fee: $20 for 1 or 2 pieces

Medium: All types of media (2D)
Theme: Botanicals
Age Criteria: 18+

4. Dreams 2019

Probably my favorite in the list, because dreams do not necessarily make sense which means they can be as abstract and surreal as possible. They can be about anything and everything. We enter into a world of our own with unlimited possibilities and experience other versions of our lives. That is what makes this one most interesting!

5.The Art Of Watercolour

The perfect time to be painting while you are on the beach! Why you ask? Well this competition is perfect for a summer setting when you take all those water dips and experience marine life since the theme also revolves around the same.
