In my last post I talk about the huge benefits that have to learning a new language, in this post I’m going to give you a few tips for you can make it with positive results.

You need to decide which language you want to learn and why you want to do it

The first thing you have to do to begin the process is decide which language you want to learn and why you choose it, this is important because will help you to keep your motivation and you can do a real compromise in the learning process. In my case, I’m learning Korean because I’m in love of Korean´s culture and one of my dreams is visit the country someday, beside it help me so much when I do my Korean’s covers and when I’m singing.

Start with the simplest

Now that you have defined the language, each one has possibly between 50 and 100 words that are basic, they are the most common which represents that you have already learned approximately 50% of the communication. It is also important that you learn what you need most in everyday situations, so you will create a base that can be reinforced as you are making progress. Do not worry about learning hundreds of complicated words.

We all learn in different ways, some people learn more in a visual or auditory way, if you know in what way you learn you can implement it in your favor. For example, if you are someone who learns in an audiovisual way, it is advisable to learn through videos.

Immerse yourself in the language

Begin to immerse yourself in the language, whether listening to music, reading, watching series or movies in the desired language, this will make you go training your ear and if you can recognize the sounds you can begin to imitate them. It is very important to start getting involved in the culture of the language you chose

The language begins to be processed in our minds, so the first thing you have to do is to start thinking in the chosen language, making sentences and constantly reviewing the vocabulary learned. This will help you so much.

One of the biggest problems when we are learning a new language is the short constancy or laziness. You must establish a specific time or schedule to dedicate to study and practice, try to dedicate a few hours a week to the review, if you do not try to recover them.

Currently through technology you can do many things, you can install an app on your phone to learn a language and spend a short time each day, there are even applications that help you translate or are dictionaries. You can read or listen to the radio in another language. In fact there are many kinds of languages that are dictated online through lessons that are free or with affordable prices. I use Lingodeer to learn Korean and it helps me a lot, it's free and allows offline learning!

The technology will also allow you to meet people whose native language is the one you are learning. Interacting in a real way with the language is very important because you can learn to express yourself correctly as well as the correct expression and pronunciation. You will learn more about the culture and you will have new friends. This is a very good way to measure your evolution within the learning process.

Use the language you are learning in creative ways, do not lose focus. Do not lose your temper, do not hurry, it is preferable to go forward to your time than to do nothing. Do not stress if something seems very difficult, be patient with yourself.
