Even with cities reopening, we’ll miss the carefree days.

We are at the beginning of the end, waiting for a new beginning.

Frequent visits to shopping mall, movie theatre, dining at restaurants, celebrating birthdays with friends, holiday travel, gym classes, family visits, hugs and handshakes — all rescinded from our list of privileges! Have you ever cherished your visits to these places with attitude of gratitude in the past? Doubtful, worse still we humankind took everything granted and continue to exploit/spoil environment for selfish goals.

Yes, changes happened after World War I & II and after earlier pandemics, but Covid-19 created the big time change of peacetime which is history-defining. May be we are the last generation with experience of watching movies in cinema halls, shopping at crowded shopping markets, attending weddings, religious functions, public meetings , etc., with huge fellow crowd of companions.

Here are somethings we miss during the pandamic and the associated lockdown:

💃🕺Getting Together With Friends

images (68).jpeg
I mostly miss the energy people bring to the room when we get together. That's completely absent in Zoom happy hours and texting. I miss it for that reason and also because of the lost possibility of physical contact. That will return at some point, and I eagerly await it, but that most likely won't be any time soon.

We can still see our friends, just stand six feet away and wear a mask.

✨Dinner Out

images (69).jpeg
I miss eating out so much. I wanna sit in a restaurant and eat tiny overpriced sharing plates. I want dim sim, sushi, tapas and cichetti. I want jugs of sangria and bottomless margaritas. I wanna annoy my friends by ordering the desserts that take 45 minutes to make.

Restaurants in some cities are opening—but many with social distancing rules in place.

🤓Less Anxiety

images (70).jpeg

Fear of the virus, the interruption of our day-to-day, loss of income, social isolation—just about everything about daily life right now can lead to increased worry. Think about the times we've faced challenges in the past and proven resilient.

.All-Day Street Shopping

Remember all those trips to Commercial Street which involved endless haggling, visiting a hundred stores and shopping like there's no tomorrow? Or the harmless window-shopping eventually tempting you to buy enough to burn a hole in your pocket? I couldn't tell you how much I miss street shopping.

😴5. Better Sleep

images (74).jpeg

If we're experiencing insomnia and/or unusually vivid, disturbing dreams right now, we're definitely not alone. Quartz and National Geographic recently reported that both are on the rise during the pandemic. Sleep experts think that because we're doing less each day, our brains are "digging deeper" into our memories to find information to process. The good news is that the phenomenon will likely fade with time.

💃🕺6. Partying And Dancing All Night

Ever since the lockdown started, we've lost track of the days. Mondays don't feel the same anymore. But it's Fridays that really get to us. We miss the excitement of planning for the weekend, heading out for parties and dancing the night away. Whether it's No Limmits' Bollywood nights, XU's hip parties or Ice's pool parties, we miss them all so badly. Wonder when we'll get to go to a party next!

🤗Hugs

images (73).jpeg

The touch and hug of friends, the caress and embrace of a partner, and the many random handshakes and pats that go unnoticed and unregistered. I want them all, badly,”

🥗 Healthy Eating

images (75).jpeg

Stressed and anxious about the coronavirus—and working from home, where the kitchen is little more than an arm's length away—many of us have been eating like the apocalypse is nigh, with multiple daily snacks and pizza-and-burger nights. The reality is, this is not the end of the world. And overindulging can cause immune-weakening conditions over time.

👩‍🎤Theater

images (80).jpeg

Honestly,I am tired of watching movies on TVs and laptop screens. I really want to go out to the theatres, relish a full-on movie experience with surround sound and this time, I am gonna buy a tub of overpriced popcorn with a cold drink!Once the theatres reopen, I will be the first one to stand in the queue, buying tickets.

🍱Grocery Shopping

images (78).jpeg

I miss going to my Trader Joe's and wandering around casually, picking up new things to try, getting inspired to create new dishes. Grocery shopping now just feels like a dangerous exercise in avoiding stranger germs and microaggressions.

🏋️‍♂️The Gym

images (79).jpeg

A lot of us are feeling less-than-great right now, because our primary source of physical activity is closed because of the pandemic. And the future of gyms is still up the air—is it safest to work out in mask? And wipe down equipment after every use? Experts don't know. For now, it's best to try and get 30 minutes of physical activity a day at home or outdoors.

🌺 The Office

images (81).jpeg

Some of us love working from home; others miss the sense of having a place to go every day. Some experts speculate that COVID-19 will change how we work in offices and lead to an increase in permanent remote work.

Eventhough we miss all these, we still have a hope that time will come when we can roam around and enjoy the things we missed some days.I need to know what all things u missed in this lockdown days. Share it with me via comments.
