First impression vs. what you stand for

Many people get super concerned about first impressions.

Today in the morning as I was watching a Ted talk I realised first impressions are not that important.

So there I was in the beginning of the video not having high expectations of the speaker thinking that I will not see a great speech based on how she looks and other quick similar judgements,  but I was wrong.

And as I watched more from the video as I connected more with the idea behind the speech and with the humanity in this speaker I realised that I started to like her more and also to appreciate her more as a speaker.

I'm bringing this idea to you to know that next time when you speak in front of an audience or you form any first impression like we all do every day when meeting so many people don't be so concerned about how you look what will they think, but be more focused on speaking from a place of honesty and integrity and really establishing a genuine connection with those people such that they will know what you stand for and who you truly are.

First impressions are very short lived they will help people just barely to like you but if you speak from a place of genuine connection  I think this is where people will love you.

Now it's your turn? what do you think of first impressions?
