RE: Remote working revolution!

in #life7 years ago

Hi Robert, thank you for this valuable comment!

I also work for one of the biggest company on the market and since few years I see their improvement in allowing people to work remotely - but mostly as a temporary thing, not permanent. My team is kind of experimental one I guess and I am actually preparing to present how my team is going remotely to wider audience, so it may convince other departments to allow the same.

For the licensing this is indeed an issue, but if you get company laptop and use VPN, at least in our set of software, there are no limitations. My main toolset is O365 (Skype, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Yammer) but that's true that some job still needs to be done onsite - but I am strong believer this will change in near future as well.

Sort:

I do use the VPN, but I work with 3D solid modeling, and if I use the VPN i cannot use my 3Dconnexion "spaceball" and that thing has become an extension of my left hand. I also enjoy many of the same things as you do recreatinally, and I think if I were in Poland instead of the US, we would enjoy one-another's company.

We might even work for the same parent company, because we have a facility in WSK Poland. Wouldn't that be something?
