Do You Remember This Day? Have You Forgot?
After 9/11 our world changed in ways we never really thought that it would. Before 9-11-2001 the idea of targeted killings and indefinite detention and government surveillance of our communications would have been shocking and illegal. Now there are a normal way of life and it is just accepted by many because it makes us safer. Many people lost their lives on this day in 2001 in the World Trade Center building, along many fire fighters and policemen of New York.
The wars in the Middle East and the radicalization of people by ISIS both online and right in our neighborhoods in many areas of our countries. The attacks that have taken place after 9/11 by the groups that hate westerners and their way of life. The tightening of the immigration into this country as been a huge thing as we are not wanting the radicals to find their way into the U.S. Although there are still many coming into this county.
U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (http://www.samhsa.gov/) has stated that roughly 3.1 million Americans entered military service between 2001 and 2011, and nearly 2 million were deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq. In that time, more than 6,000 American troops have been killed, and roughly 44,000 wounded. Of returning service members, more than 18 percent have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or depression, and almost 20 percent reported suffering from the effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Twenty Two (22) veterans die everyday because they take their own life from depression and PTSD.
Was most of the groups such as ISIS created by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? How you ask, because we used many of these people there to help us in the endeavor to control that region of the world and when we left they were high and dry as the U.S. did not make good on their promises to them and they had to become a radical group or them and their families would have been killed.
The point is that the whole world changed on this day because of the decision of the few that had the most to gain by starting the wars in the Middle East. The little people of the world lost a little on this day on 2001 and the 1% made money from our hardship. Please remember this in November and lets take the U.S back in the elections coming up. Let's send a message to the 1% that "We The People" want our country back and with our votes we will do our best to do just that.
