Looking for Employment
A young man went to apply for a management position in a large company. The initial interview passed and now I was going to meet the director for the final interview. The director saw his academic achievements in his CV and they were excellent. And he asked: "Did you receive any scholarships at school?" the young man answered "no".
"Was it your father who paid your tuition?"
"My father died when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid." - he answered.
"Where does your mother work? "
"My mother worked washing clothes."
The director asked the young man to show his hands. The young man showed a pair of smooth and perfect hands.
"Have you ever helped your mother wash clothes?"
"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books, and my mother can wash clothes faster than me.
The director said: "I have a request: when you go home today, go and wash your mother's hands, and then come to see me tomorrow morning."
The young man felt that his opportunity to get the job was high. When he returned home he asked his mother to let him wash his hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings and showed her hands to her son.
The young man washed his mother's hands little by little. He rolled a tear as he did so. It was the first time he had noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled and had so many bruises. Some bruises were so painful that her mother shuddered when he touched her.
This was the first time that the young man realized what this pair of hands that washed his clothes every day meant to pay his tuition. The bruises on the mother's hands were the price she had to pay for her education, her school activities and her future.
After cleaning the hands of his mother, the young man began to wash in silence all the clothes that were missing.
That night, mother and son talked for a long time.
The next morning, the young man went to the principal's office.
The director noticed the tears in the young man's eyes when he asked him, "Can you tell me what you did and learned yesterday at home?"
The young man replied: "I washed my mother's hands and I also finished washing all the clothes that were left"
"Now I know what it is to appreciate, to recognize ... Without my mother, I would not be who I am today ... By helping my mother I now realize how difficult and hard it is to get something done on my own. and the value of helping the family.
The director said: "This is what I look for in a manager, I want to hire a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to do things, and a person who does not put the money as their only goal in life. " "You are hired".
A child who has been protected and habitually has been given what he wants, develops a "right mentality" and always puts himself first. I would ignore the efforts of their parents. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying our children?
You can give your child a big house, good food, piano lessons, watch on a big television screen. But when you're mowing the lawn, please also experience it. After eating, wash your dishes with your brothers and sisters. It's not because you do not have money to hire whoever does it, it's because you want to love them the right way. No matter how rich you are, what you want is for them to understand. One day your hair will have gray hair, like the mother of that young man. The most important thing is for your child to learn to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learn the ability to work with others to do things. "
