What is Critical Thinking?

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe. It includes the ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Someone with critical thinking skills is able to do the following : understand the logical connections between ideas.

The skills that we need in order to be able to think critically are varied and include observation, analysis, interpretation, reflection, evaluation, inference, explanation, problem solving, and decision making.

Specifically we need to be able to:
-Think about a topic or issue in an objective and critical way.
-Identify the different arguments there are in relation to a particular issue.
-Evaluate a point of view to determine how strong or valid it is.
-Recognise any weaknesses or negative points that there are in the evidence or argument.
-Notice what implications there might be behind a statement or argument.
-Provide structured reasoning and support for an argument that we wish to make.

Lets do it...!!!!

  • Think about a topic or issue in an objective and critical way.

Don't think too far and it's not clear, because it will waste your energy, focus on a topic and work on that topic with all your might.

  • Identify the different arguments there are in relation to a particular issue.

Unclear arguments will run out of time and energy, try to make clear and structured arguments

  • Evaluate a point of view to determine how strong or valid it is.

Evaluate what you have done, because evaluating a job is very important in order to map which parts are still unsatisfactory.

  • Recognise any weaknesses or negative points that there are in the evidence or argument.

After evaluating it will find out which parts are weaknesses and which parts are strong enough. we can sort it out after everything is clear.

So, are you interested in having critical thinking skills?
