Hello Steemit, I am the Arabian Alien and I feel I need to express to you all the devastation in the Yemen right now. I may not be from this Earth but I have been observing the Middle East very closely because I crash landed in Saudi Arabia 150 years ago.

Yemen is one of the Arabian world's poorest countries. The Yemen has been nearly decimated by constant wars between the local presdident Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi's military and the rebel Houthi movement. This has been an ongoing problem since 2015. It is difficult for journalists, aid workers and diplomats to enter Yemen. The little information that comes out clearly shows the dire situation.

This is a map of the divided control of Saudi Arabia.

The one thing that is always barely touched on is who profited from these disasters?

Devastation From The War

According to the United States Institute of Peace "The violence has taken an enormous toll In a country of 27.4 million, 50,000 people have been killed or injured, and more than 3 million have fled their homes. International organizations estimate that 19 million need humanitarian aid and 7 million face starvation. And now, Yemeni government forces and their Saudi coalition patrons are talking of an assault on the port of Hodeida to stop weapons and ammunition imports by their adversaries, an operation that the United Nations warns would imperil food supplies. The port accounts for about 80 percent of the country’s food imports." (1)

We all know that this war was terrible for the people involved but we need to know about who is funding & profiting from these wars from a safe distance.

Proxy War

What is a proxy war?

definition proxy war.PNG

This basically means you funded a war without directly being involved.

Proxy wars were most abundant during the cold war. This was a way for the Soviets and West to confront one another without destroying the world with nuclear war. This is an easy way to go to war, your home country's residents do not risk their own lives.

Let's Look at some examples of proxy wars:

  • Vietnam Proxy War

The Vietnam War was a proxy war during the Cold War. Even though America and the Soviet Union didn't always directly militarize, both of them funded a different side in the war.

According to Ducksters "The Viet Cong were Vietnamese rebels in the South who fought against the Southern Vietnam government and the United States." (2)

  • The Yugoslav Proxy Wars

According to Eskify "A series of wars which saw the breakup of a country called Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was made up of what we now know as Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, and a couple of other nations. It was a communist dictatorship, but that wasn’t able to hold Yugoslavia from tearing itself apart. It was Europe’s biggest conflict since World War 2." (3)

NATO (America) supported the rebels, they were always looking for a chance to overthrow communist dictatorships at the time. Russia quickly joined in and supported Yugoslav's existent government.

Who Is Profiting & Prospering From The War In The Yemen?

As the conflict in the Yemen enters it's third year, the evidence shows that the UK licensed an estimated £3.3 Billion in military arms to the Middle Eastern countries rich in oil.

America has many covert operations on record in the Yemen, namely drone attacks.

According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism "Both the [Pentagon and CIA] have been operating drones over Yemen. But the US has also launched strikes with other weapons systems, including conventional jet aircraft and cruise missiles. The Bureau records these operations as ‘additional US attacks." (4)

Which targets does Britain and America want Saudi Arabia to attack next? The strikes were clearly not only for rebels, they targeted large sections of the Yemeni population. My belief is that the purpose is to destabilize the entire nation. Schools, hospitals, mosques, homes, refugee camps, daycare centers, markets, factories, power plants, food storage warehouses, and entire neighborhoods have all been attacked and now lie in ruins.

According to the Conspiracy Blog "Bagil Jafar Qasim, Director-General of the Mokha power plant, reported: Bombs targeted them [the residents], without any warning. We don't know why. We were very shocked. We never expected that they would target a residential area full of children, women, and workers. Sixty were killed in the housing compound." (5)

Yemen needs to look far back in its history to find the point of pre-colonialism. It used to exist under British rule, and now under proxy rule by Riyadh (on behalf of Washington). Yemen has a population similar to Saudi Arabia, while being the poorest in MENA (Middle East and North Africa). The government in the Yemen has and most likely always will be influenced by Saudi money and the right-wing Wahhabi interpretation of Islam.

There are four treaties which are supposed to stop wars from killing or injuring civilians.

According to Wikipedia "The agreements of 1949, negotiated in the aftermath of the Second World War (1939–45), which updated the terms of the two 1929 treaties, and added two new conventions. The Geneva Conventions extensively defined the basic rights of wartime prisoners (civilians and military personnel); established protections for the wounded and sick; and established protections for the civilians in and around a war-zone. The Geneva Conventions comprise four treaties, and three additional protocols, that establish the standards of international law for humanitarian treatment in war." (6)

This has definitely is a rule often broken by America, The U.S. does not seem keen to protect civilians, might as well blow them all up. This is horrible!

What Conclusions Can We Draw From This?

As an alien, It is obvious to me that the war in the Yemen is not just a fight over two Islamic nations, it is a fight for natural resources and political control. Many western powers have profited from instigating a proxy war in the Yemen while colonizing it. Humans must realize that everything they are told by their mainstream media is often untrue.

Be careful homo-sapiens, this is a war on truth!

I understand you are a bot designed to prevent plagarism, but I have correctly added my source for that image.

You're looking in a wrong direction.
There is a country Russia (ancestor of Soviet Union). It is 90% dependent on oil price. And people who became poorer during latest years due to oil price decline would like to change the authorities. But a new dictator Putin understands that he will not be alive for long if not a president.

So he tries his best in the Middle East to make any mess to rise the oil price and make his people more or less confident with his policy.

Don't forget Russia takes 2nd place on the world weapon market and always sells weapon to anybody who doesn't like US.

Great point @limnade, I will talk about that in my follow-up post! Thank you for expressing your views and commenting :)

Would you like a spatula? For your bunghole?

Middle East is most unstable Region now a days. Everyday some sort of terrorist attacks, bombing mosques, killing innocents has been a routine in most Middle East.
But Yemen is being worst of all Middle East. Yemen War has entered into its 3rd year and still no peace is seen in near times, I fear. The condition in Yemen now a days is the worst of all. The Saudi King Last Night did said he is Backing Out of the Yemen war but don't know if it was just a mere stunt. Saudi has been a prominent player in this war who is played by The US. This Proxy war between US and Russia has to be realized by the Middle Eastern Regions like Saudi who actively take part in the War although being used merely as pawns of Chess by the West. Several Million Yemen Innocent people who have been orphaned from Parents, children, Siblings or even Spouses are taking refugee in Other countries and the life of Refugee is always the worst one. I even have seen some Children orphaned of all their family members. Do they deserve such gruesome behaviour. The NGO working on Ground Zero Level to help the Innocent And injured Yemenese are targeted and killed, the villages and local population is Killed. Air Strikes are a daily Routine. I hope the War ends and Peace Prevails in The Middle East as soon as possible.
Do look for yourself what the people of Yemen as Refugee have been undergoing.
P.S. Todays Mainstream Media is all based on Captalism so is biased, i wonder if the ethical code of Journalism still prevails anywhere in the world. The News they feed is all based on lies and nothing else.

Thank you @arabianalien, this is a very concise breakdown of this atrocity. Spread truth to these ignorant humans.

Fantastic post, thanks for providing clarity to this horrific war. I am so disgusted with the U.S. and Saudi Arabia
