Where does the lightness go?

in #life5 years ago

Our disconnection from the body begins very early in life, and this process takes place with the help of our society and the system we all live in. Step by step a human being becomes more heavy, more dumb (body-wise), more numb, and various inhibitions and blocks start appearing inside our physical bodies.

I very well remember the sensation of easiness, aerial lightness in my body during those times when I was a small child. I NEVER got tired. I never felt the need to lie down or sit down and rest. My movements were bouncy, I ran like a hurricane, I climbed without ever feeling fatigue... Pain (only temporary and never too serious) came only from a multitude of scratches and bruises, and once in a while the throat went dry after running for hours around the neighborhood... And the ice-cold water from nearby wells felt sweeter than any sophisticated cocktail.

What the hell happens as we grow? Where does this heaviness and clumsiness in human bodies come from? What are these strange tendencies to rest so often, and why the rest is always associated with non-movement, with sleep? Where does that summer breeze in our hair go, why does the bounciness of our feet suddenly go missing? Where is that airy feeling of almost flying - not walking? Why, as we reach our 30-s, we no longer skip three steps of the stairwell, running all the way up to the 5th floor? Why do we now drink water because we "have to" and it no longer tastes sweet?

Because. Because this system doesn't need people in their thirties or fifties who can skip three pages running upstairs and consider it an easy, normal thing.

This system needs people who are disabled, people who are damaged in their bodies and minds, weaklings who call normal, natural movements "fitness" that has to be performed at certain times in the gym (again, because you "have to") or consider these normal movements something extraordinary that can become "work" and "career".

Just something to think about.

Nature. Vitamin D. Walking. Flexibility. These are all plenty of things we have when we are young. I

I suspect that diet and boxed in lifestyles play a huge role in quickening the heaviness. Decades ago I read a book by an actress who went to study them not long before I was born.

The book I read

It is said that there are men there who are 100 still playing volleyball. They have no cars there, so walk to get where they go. I suspect that plays a huge role as well as I am convinced walking is a necessary component to being healthy.
