RE: History is a Lie, We've Been Set Up
My Great Grandmother was born in the late 1800's, had around a dozen kids in a one bedroom home and lived to be about 102. I was talking to one of her daughters (my great aunt) one day, and I remember her telling me that her mother never told them about where babies come from. And they never knew when she was pregnant. Said she would go away and then just come home one day with a new baby. When I asked her how they couldn't tell their mother was pregnant, she said they wore aprons in those days, and you couldn't tell because she wasn't a skinny person. I never questioned the story, but after learning about the orphan trains, I am wondering about my ancestry. Especially since one of my Grandmother's daughters had dark skin and didn't look like the rest of the family.
