The general perspective here in India is that the majority of the population here is Middle Class. Still, I have to say that it is not true as most people don't know the definition of being in a Middle-Class Family. If you have a normal Job with a House then that doesn't make you a Middle Class family instead you are a little above the totem pole but people here in India consider this to be Middle Class. The government of India doesn't really issue any Data as to what should be considered a middle-class income and what should be considered not but I feel like there is a general perspective in the world of finance that has distributed different people into different classes in Society.

There are different research firms that have defined what a Middle-Class Family's Income should be and it is around 10-20 USD per day which turns out to be 25000-50000 INR per month which if I may say makes a lot of people, not Middle Class and instead, they would either fall into the Low Income Class or the Upper Middle Class and you will be surprised to hear that only around 5 percent people in India actually fall under the Middle-Class Family according to various surveys.

This also signifies that India is still a poor country and it also showcases how the budget is made and how facilities are been given to Low Income and Poor and not the Middle Class as there are only a few people in Middle-Class families. So the next time you hear that the government is not doing anything for the Middle-Class Families you will know exactly why they are doing that.
