The Essential Homemade Chest Rub♨

An essential Homemade Chest Rub calls for some essential oils of course. As an avid connoisseur of pure essential oils I currently only use (and shamelessly recommend) doterra products. I say that because I have tested so many, and chose them because they use a strict protocol for essential oils known as the Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade.

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years because they come from the roots of plants. Not only the roots, but the stems, flowers, resins and rinds that all provide the essential elements that only plants can offer. The efficacy of nature cannot be duplicated because they cause direct effects, not side effects.

Hopefully more home remedies will eventually call for pure oils because they are easier to access and are more cost efficient in the long run.

This is how easy it is with the ingredients as simple 1, 2, 3… and 4

  • 1 tablespoon of organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 1 drop Peppermint essential oil
  • 2 Drops LEMON essential oil
  • 3 Drops Eucalyptus essential oil

Note: I am a certified wellness advocate with doTERRA, however I am not a doctor (although most modern doctors only have around 2 hours of nutrition expertise, out of 12 years of study) and all remedies should not be used if allergic to any of the ingredients.

Directions:

Mix all of the above amounts/ingredients together in an easy to access jar with a lid for storage. Then simply rub it on your chest and under your feet. If you have someone to help, put some on your back as well.

The lemon combined with eucalyptus is an incredibly powerful antibacterial for common colds and it is also "Kid Friendly". It’s actually perfect for children because you know when their pores open up you’re not filling them with other harmful chemicals like most petroleum based "vapor rubs" (check their labels). It is really just processed crude oil! This alternative is highly recommended because it also cuts out the parabens and formaldehyde that are commonly found in a lot of the products we currently know, and use.

It is important to note that for babies it is always safer to put the rub in between the toes and on their feet. The real pure essential oils (like doTERRA) are extremely strong and very potent. Check out this article on “Why doTERRA” HERE . They should always be used sparingly and less dosages on children under two years old. Applying coconut oil first is always the best protective measure with toddlers due to their sensitive skin. Coconut oil protects the skin and allows the nutrients from the oils to soak into their system safely.

As a single parent I am always looking for the safest, effective, and cost efficient ways to help my child and I know other parents are too. So let's look to the PLANTS for our medicine and keep our children safe.

Please drop a comment if this worked for you or if you have any other natural home remedies that are safe and cost-efficient. Again I am always looking, and more importantly sharing with others.
