Blog #1: Bomb Cyclone: Trapped in Bed and Contemplating Existence in Brooklyn
If you’re in the U.S, then you’ve probably heard about the winter storm that’s plaguing the East Coast and will soon be our doom. Lucky for me, I’m in the middle of it all having decided after college to move to NYC and live in Brooklyn. But fret not because working from home is now possible and I will be spending today in the warmth of my bed, learning about Steemit, and playing with my cat, Leonardo DiCatprio.
I never really got into blogging, but I’ve always wanted to, so when I heard about Steemit, I thought there was no better time. My goal in life is to have a life worth blogging about (ironically, my first blog is me trapped in my apartment and watching Westworld on HBO GO, so, riveting stuff). So, to make things more interesting for you readers, I decided to brave the cold and snow (for about 10 minutes) and take some pictures of the “Bomb Cyclone” that’s made its way to Brooklyn. The foggy building in the picture above is the Brooklyn Museum, one of the prettiest buildings in Brooklyn, but currently shadowed by whiteness. I’ll be going there this Saturday for some art and inspiration.
Inspiration for what, you may ask?
Good question. I’m writing another book. I won’t get into the details quite yet because it’s still in the beginning stages, but I’m excited to bring it into reality in the upcoming months. But, for now, if you’re interested, you can check out my other book on Amazon, The Vacant Swing, which I wrote when I was 18. So, five years ago...dang, that was five years ago...I’m feeling old, people.
A lot has changed in the past couple of months. I graduated college. I desperately looked for a job. I finally got one as a copywriter in the city. Now, I live in Brooklyn, have a cat, and am sitting contemplating my life and future. So basically, struggling to adult. But, onward I go into the unknown!
That’s what this blog is going to be about. We trying to figure things out, and hopefully, you decide to come on this journey with me. I have big plans, and as writer, I figure that I should probably write some of my life down.
So, until next time, stay warm!
