Picking winter melon in our backyard

Winter melon, ash gourd, white gourd! In the philippines we called this vegetable KUNDOL. It belong the folk song bahay kubo. Our native vege song. This melon has thick white fleshy sweet when eaten. It has waxy coating that gives a long shelf life. This preferred to called melon and mostly grown in southeast asia.

Me and nephew pick a large winter melon in our backyard today. Our father planted winter melon plant last year, and it bears a huge fruit of winter melon.

Were living in quezon province in the philippines. Theres a lot of coconut trees here in our place. Lots of vegetables and fruits here.

Actually we did not recognized what kinda fruit is this on the first sight weve thought it was a sitting vergetables but my father says its wintermelon.

Its about 2kilo in weighting scale. Its too heavy in a normal weight. Very light green in color.
