Family & Freedom - Independence Day 2017 Blog

Independence Day revolves around family, freedom, and fireworks. This year : myself(@calendula), @sariun, @reinhardt, and @rotiwokeman. Here's a look into our holiday celebration!

Fresh meats on the grill creates the classic image of a wholly American 4th of July. 

But there's delicious cocktail shrimp while the steaks are cooking! They were hand-shelled and cooked by @sariun's Grandmother

And it is holiday celebration after all... :) Hears to the oldest brewing company in the USA!

Perfect weather for sitting outside by the pool. The faint smell of smoke cut through the humidity.

After poolside relaxation we migrated into the kitchen to enjoy good company and the fruits of our culinary labor. Baked beans from @sariun's grandmother, fresh, homegrown green beans that we canned last week, homemade scalloped potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and (of course) iced tea!

I'm blessed to be married to a wonderful man @sariun, to be surrounded by so much love and prosperity, and to have friends like @reinhardt and @rotiwokeman. 

WOW. Desserts on desserts! They were so delicious and patriotic~ The red, white, and blue cakes were made locally by a classically trained French pastry chef.

Get-together without a group shot? Obviously not!
