Lunch: NY Style Deli. Experience: 10/10.
Today's lunch was extra special because I had the pleasure of accompanying @sariun, @reinhardt, @rotiwokeman, and a good friend of ours to a NY Style deli!
It's a funny story: we had the best timing in the world. It had been raining all morning and started to pick up right before we met up for lunch, but as we approached the deli the rain magically let up for us!
They were actually quite busy inside. Four or five tables were taken by other customers but as we ordered our food everyone started to trickle out, and by the time we were ready to take our seats the restaurant was basically empty!
Funny how things work out sometimes, eh?
The deli was adorned with quaint, vintage-style decorations, probably collected by the owner who used to live in NYC.
You can tell he's very connected to his home state and his country. Truly a patriot.
His passion shows through the quality ingredients he proudly displays.
And lemme tell 'ya: this is some of the most AMAZING quality food I've ever tasted.
Check out this Reuben:
And this is a divine sandwich that is comprised of prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers:
And I got a turkey club with avocado! So delicious!
But one of the best things about this deli is the display of traditional Italian-American ingredients and treats up next to the register that you can peruse before you pay for your meal.
The selection is amazing.
Of course there has to be Grandma-style pasta sauce:
And other goodies like sauces...
... and vintage style candies!
Of course we left a tip. ;)
But the most fun thing about going here was the wonderful company and the conversation! Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable meal~!
And thanks for reading my post. I hope you enjoyed my little tour of this super great, local, NY Style Deli. Let me know what you think in the comments!
Cheers!
