Lato Seaweed Ceviche (Kinilaw) for Only 0.107 SBD
I am not a chef cook but I am a father with instinct and motivation to prepare a healthy food in a very low cost. So, please be easy on me guys.
Presenting a very simple and cheapest way of preparing a lato seaweed appetizer for only 0.107 SBD.
What is lato seaweed?
- A lato or "lato-bilog”, “ar-arusip” has grape-like structure that is robust, crispy, watery, and slimy. But it is a good source of iron, iodine, calcium, and vitamins A and C.
I also add sponge gourd (sikwa) to provide unique aroma to my lato seaweed. And also sikwa provides a lot of health benefits like improving a good blood circulation, etc.
Ingredients:
1 gram - lato seaweed
1 pc. - union
1 pc. tomato
1 pc. sponge gourd (sikwa)
Small amount of salt and magic sarap
1-2 cups - vinegar
Step 1|
Wash the lato thoroughly with running water two to three times to ensure the cleanliness of the lato. And detouch individually the grape shape part of the lato and put it on the clean bowl.
Step 2|
Cut the union, sikwa and tomato based on your desired shape ( wider your imagination).
Step 3|
Add the vinegar to the lato, union, tomato and sikwa mixture and season with salt and magic sarap or you can add other seasoning mix if you wish.
Two to three minutes of preparations the lato seaweed ceviche is ready to serve good for two persons.
