Time Management #1: The Power of Deadlines...

in #life6 years ago

Greetings, dear Steemians!

Have you ever had the experience of taking hours to do something, when you could do it in one?
When it comes to success that stems from a competent mindset, time management is one of the most important aspects of character development.

After all, and as we have said many times before, time is our greatest resource. A lot of people have the potential to achieve truly amazing things, but their negligence of the asset of time always leaves them with less than they deserve.

Think about this: Have you ever sat down to do something, and suddenly realized that you have been trying to do it for hours but are actually busy with something else and aren’t getting the thing you want done? If that is the case, then you need to rethink your task management strategy and see ‘time’ not as a dispensable set of seconds in our daily routine, but as a valuable resource that cannot be reciprocated.

Implementing time management to your daily routine is not as easy as you might imagine. It is a set of rules and principles that require determination and resolve. For our first blog post regarding time management, we will talk about the power of deadlines and how they can affect your efficiency through the day.

Choosing deadlines for your activities eventually becomes a habit in your daily routine. To have a deadline is to decide with absolute vehemence to do a job in the predetermined timeframe.

Imagine that you are paying loan installments every month. You and the bank have agreed on a monthly bill that has to be paid, whatever the circumstance. The bank has given you a deadline, and that in turn created for you a sense of urgency. That sense of urgency compels you to accomplish that task in the necessitated timeframe.

To set a deadline for your other activities is no different. When you decide to do a job and finish it in an hour, you will do everything that is in your potential and your capabilities to finish it within that hour. This means that you will allow no friends or family, and no interruptions or pastimes of any kind distract you from finishing that task before the determined deadline.

The fight for your dreams starts in your mind. For once, deceive the mind that is always deceiving you by using the power of deadlines. Create context and determination in your thought, the thought of doing something in a determined and limited time window.

Note that upon achieving this, you will have a much higher self-esteem, for you have advertently broken your own record and proven that you can be so much more than what you give yourself credit for.

""""Use the Power of Deadlines as the first step towards your journey in time management; a journey that has its own challenges, but you will never live to regret taking them on""""

I apologize for not being able to respond to everyone who writes meaningful comments and actively participating in this community but you who are here will always have my upvote as a way of thanking and everyone knows that and I have the goal to help everyone achieve an upgrade in life of all of you every day and form a community that wants to program your Positive Mindset and help each other and so we will be a unique community where the main foundations are the respect, the generosity that can serve for many people. The world needs more and more like this, believe me. And for this I ask the effort of all of you to invite new people to this blog and this can be done through the rest and inviting friends who want to be part of this with all of us.

I have been working very hard on this blog since the beginning. I have a very busy life but I am giving my best and believe me I have shared experiences that I have been coaching thousands of people and I know that the change of the Mindset should be daily. I am already grateful to see you giving upvotes to each other and you can see this with the fact that many already have 8, 9, 10 upvotes. But I'm sure that with the effort of all of us we will see a community with, 40, 50, 80 upvotes and for that everyone should get engaged so we can make it come true. I believe and we can! Resteem...

***Remember Community: Please, if you commented on a new post I did, please always go back to the previous one because if someone in the community commented lastly because of time zone differences it will be without your upvote and that would not be fair.

You all know the goal! We can reach: 50+ Upvotes each others!

A BIG HUG!!!

Time management is using our time wisely. As others have said, they have many writings to do but haven't done yet, maybe just like me who has not set the deadline to accomplish it for doing other things. Although I believe that we have a different time frame in accomplishing things, we cannot blame others for the "result" of what we have to produce due to our negligence of the resources of time we have given.

The time passes, it never comes back in life.
And as time passes, it also goes out on the day of life.
Those who do not understand the importance of time deny it, waste it, and sometimes it ruins them as well.

I am really very proud of all of you who are leaving meaningful committees and being generous voting for each other and it is important to remember to go back to the previous post to open if you did not give an upvote to someone who commented after you and was not given with the generosity proposed in this blog. I am writing this same answer for all of you and I apologize for this but it is that my life really is very busy and I have given the best of myself so that we can reach our goal of 50+ upvotes between all of this blog no matter Whatever your steem power. Remember the most important is attitude.

Time is more precious than money because if we loose money we can get it back later but if a time is gone then we can't get it back at any cost. The example you shared about bank repayment is true example of deadline. In any case if we miss the deadline of payment then bank will either charge penalty or take legal actions. So we always strictly follow that deadline and in our life also we need to follow same kind of time management. Great post @chbartist

The fight for your dreams starts in your mind.

This is so true and so hard to do. Deadlines work unpredictably depending on what is it that we are supposed to achieve by a given time.
We tend to be more efficient when we owe something to others than when we owe it to ourselves.

Steemit has been a great incentive for me in some respects and has allowed me to achieve a lot of unfinished writing projects that were left abandoned years ago.

Ironically, the same platform has become a hurdle in order for me to achieve other goals, which I keep postponing because I have comments to write, images to find or post to publish.

The immediacy of this platform makes it "easier" to commit to it. The more time we are given in the real world to get something done, the more we put in between, risking never having it done.
That's my current struggle.

Regards and good time-management to you all.

hahaha ... it happens to me the same, I have postponed things to be in steemit ... that I must control...

There you go. This can be very addictive and time consuming. I still hate when someone tells me that I must spend more time on discord or else i'll never grow here. I mean, I am going crazy already reading, commenting, posting, etc. I just can't handle more than that. There has been "a bit" of false advertisement in selling the Steemit concept and now with these super low prices there is a lot of disappointment, especially with new users.
We can't devote so much time to something out of which we can't make a living.
And yet, here we are...
:)

I understand exactly what you mean. Regards

My husband always tells me that ... that I have to work with time ... and I admit that it bothers me a little, but of course, that way you work more organized ... I have to put it into practice as soon as possible!

Our biggest competition is us only and we need to learn how to manage time in order to get to our goals. you have very fairly written about how can we do so and how important it is.
keep up with such good content as always.

As much as I love deadlines and the expectations they set, I also focus on quick and simple to tasks to get out of the way so that when focusing on the task at hand to achieve said deadline, I will have less interruptions and be more efficient. Unfortunately, that most times means working around office hours to reduce distractions but it gets the job done!

Time management is essential especially at work for without it things can go haywire. It requires an understanding of the optimal prioritizations of tasks and not allow distractions to compromise them, that in a nutshell...
