Don`t fear something new- my introduction
(<Short introduction after the story>)
NEW DESTINATION
I`m driving my bike along the streets of Horsens a rural town in Denmark towards my new workplace, it`s 10 pm but you can still see the sun on the horizon. The roads are basically empty, only a few cars pass by, but that was something expected moving to a rural town with around 80 k population. The beautiful scenery is at large small brick reddish houses of 2 or max 3 floors, a lot of trees and gardens. One lidt hus (little house in Danish if I`m not wrong) stands out, it really reminds me of the hobbit houses depicted in Lord of the rings (one movie I f*ucking adore) with these small windows close to the ground, black ceiling with a small gnomish chimney, for which I get a feeling that I can reach out and touch and I`m fairly tall around 1.8 m. Thee hus is surrounded by colorful flowers and an abundance of plants, the windows are filled with rectangular shapes, which make them look very thick and not very transparent but still I can notice the big greenish garden on the back. As I have no experience with these kind of houses I believe that the ceiling is higher than it looks and the floor is much deeper, or you`d be bumping your head around like Gandalf the Gray (the wizard from LoTR). So I start dreaming around about this house and how you can make it look like it`s a hobbit tea party place and my friends will joke with me, but under the ground I can dig a mansion, for throwing parties without anyone knowing.
A BOOK I`M READING
Back to reality, i`m driving to work but i`m not like the usual employee, I`m driving with a desire to get there, to start making progress and money, gaining experience, with little social anxiety because of all the new colleagues and most important no fear of anyone or anything. That is part of my adaptation to a different way of thinking that I have been going through the last years. To a large extent it was flowered by the book that I was listening to through audible (a program for listening to books, which I have gotten used to lately, but that`s another topic), The Art of Power by Thich Nhat Hanh - who is a 90 years old Buddhist monk from Vietnam, I`m not going to go in deep on the book, but it has been incredibly soothing and mind opening to listen to his book (with a relatively good narrator). Some parts about the path of a Buddhist monk are too spiritual to my taste and i`m pretty sure a lot of people would be all out bored by some stuff, but i`m very open to all opinions, I know everyone has a different one and I try to analyze; not judge. Listening, before work, about things we have heard a lot of times, like first learn to accept yourself before others will accept you; do everything mindfully- even when you walk feel the steps, don`t just walk; everyone is good, beautiful and loving inside them just try and focus on those qualities (I was thinking about when people are born here, cus there are a lot of bad bastards out there) - all this might be too general, too religious or heard too many damn times but with the thorough explanations, thinking deeper on it and repeating it a few times or listening to it before some activity, so that it stays fresh in your mind can be energizing, increasing your productivity bringing you to a mind set in which you level your performance.
MINDFUL
One thing that can help me the most in my everyday is doing everything mindfully
, like breathing, which in itself is a form of meditation (I`d call it clearing your head from the bull s*hit) e.g. my colleague got me mad, nothing special but in my head it was, I bet he did not even take it as a conflict (I`m quite younger than him), afterwards of course I started thinking about it, why he did it, would there be any consequences, who the f*uck does he think he is - but than I started breathing mindfully, just focus on the intake, how it goes through your lungs, and I stopped thinking about it, emotions faded and I was back on my A-game. Strong repetitive thoughts, infused with strong emotions can physically materialize themselves, I believe that so I have to be careful. I`m gonna stop here for now.
COMPLEX PORTFOLIO
My name is Kristian, I`m 21 years old, I just moved to Denmark from Sofia, Bulgaria. Been here for 3-4 weeks now, i`m moving according to plan, got a job in a temp agency as a forklift driver, so I can pay my living expenses while studying, I`m learning Danish steadfast and reading some books apart from that. I came here 2 months before the start of my Erasmus (European educational program - switching my university for a semester) because I don`t want to stay home for the summer (total loss of time), I`ve got no documents but i`m working on them, little money but I`m focused, fearless.
