IS YOUR ANGER ROBBING YOU?

in #life7 years ago

During my teen days, Aristotle spoke to me via the movie, “Odyssey” and his words gave me a paradigm shift. He said, “To be angry is easy but to be angry for the right reason, at the right time and at the right person, it is hard.” Ever since then, anger has hardly been in control of me because I took absolute control of it.
Yet, I see people being vulnerable and then used negatively by their anger. For instance, Fred, a promising young man was once rushing for an interview at a company he had applied. A new position that was to triple his current salary and change his fortune. While in the bus he boarded, he got frustrated by the bus driver who wasted so much time alighting at every bus stop just to get passengers into his vehicle.
As a result, an outburst erupted and Fred felt insulted and he sprung out of control. So he got down and attacked the bus driver. In retaliation, he was hit back and a fight began that took the next one hour. He was badly beaten, his clothes were rumpled and stained and he had no choice than to begin looking for a boutique to have a change of clothes.
By the time he got to the company, he met the Directors congratulating the other applicant who obviously didn’t face any competition at the interview as they were only two that were shortlisted. Apparently, he had gotten the job with no hassle. Fred almost collapsed in disappointment.
Similarly, a mere disagreement between Sylvester and Katherine who had just being engaged escalated into an argument. In fury, Sylvester forgot that his fiancée was asthmatic and he began to beat her mercilessly till she fainted. Hours later, she gave up the ghost at the hospital and Sylvester was to spend the next 10 years of his life in incarceration.
How pathetic! Anger robs people of their happiness and gives them trouble in return. Anger is not necessarily bad as it is an emotion that drives one into action but letting it push you into doing the wrong things is bad. Paul explained this by saying. “In your anger, don’t sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger.”
So how has your anger being robbing you? It’s time to stop letting your anger hold you to ransom. In fact, there are people who are not even worth your anger. Bertrand Russell wrote, “It is a waste of energy to be angry with a man who behaves badly, just as it is to be angry with a car that won’t go.”
Buddha said, “A man who conquers himself is greater than one who conquers a thousand men in battle. In Proverbs, i learnt that if I can control my temper, I am better than a warrior who conquers a city.
So the next time you are about to get angry for no worthy reason, remember that anger often begins in folly and ends in repentance. And for every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness. So, don’t let anything or anyone take control of your life or deprive you of your happiness.

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.
