The Story No One Wants To Hear

in #life8 years ago

I regret to inform you that nothing has changed, it's the same today as it was fifty years ago.  What's  the difference? What am I talking about? The media and social media also racism, you see everyone is upset about racial tensions. The truth is that you can go through old newspapers and sweep and find exactly what's happening now was happening then, we just did not have technology to bring it to light. I remember an old report in New York City where a shop owner was gunned down in front of his shop after he called the police about a break in. When I heard the story, I asked what robber would wait on the police in front of the place they just broke into? There was a miscommunication when the owner went to take out his identification to prove who he was, many guns were emptied into him, he didn't stand a chance. There are so many stories and not all the injustice is against black people, it's just where the media have their focus right now. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of good officers who put their lives on the line everyday, I have quite a few in my family. I do not want to see them get hurt and this is the reason I think the system needs an overhaul.  Good officers paid the price in Texas because a sick person took their anger out on the wrong people. Clearly seeing bad officers get away with crimes has put pressure on the good men and women who serve our communities. I do not know how to fix the problem but admitting there is a problem is always a good first step.
