Year 42 Challenge Update - gnarly sushi

I was issued the following challenge:

Saddle on up to a sushi bar, order up the grossest thing on the menu - and eat that shit.

This is what I ended up with.
A sea urchin and raw quail egg, sushi "shooter".

You are supposed to mix up the concoction and toss it down your gullet in one swoop. I have never eaten urchin, so I took a little taste of that first. It was interesting! Sweet and nutty at the same time.

Then I mixed it and had a little taste. If you have ever tried raw egg white, you can imagine the consistency. Not pleasant. Goopy and stringy - bleh.

The egg yolk added a richness to the whole thing - it was interesting to say the least. I can say that I wont eat this again thats for sure.

One thing I will eat again - Wagyu beef. After the urchin shooter, I ordered wagyu beef sushi.

THIS WAS AMAZING.

The beef basically melted in your mouth. Two chews and you couldnt tell where the beef ended and the rice began.

IT WAS AMAZING.

To add to the deliciousness - there was real wasabi. Not the mixed powdered stuff, grated from the wasabi root (its basically horseradish).

As for dessert - gummy octopus chaser!
