THE LEGEND OF 100TH PERSON

My name is daddysamuel. I believe I have a few things to tell you, though I am not used to these things, I think I may as well start here. It will take just a minute or so, each time. On my honour it will certainly will not be more than five minutes each time. However, you may decide to hang around for as long as you care. I shall be talking ''decently'' about every known and probably unknown subject.

The little known story of the Hundredth Person (HP) says that HP is the 100th person among a group of one hundred individuals, from all works of life and from as many races as possible. This tale which fragments can be found in most other great stories, legends, myths and tales of the world has finally been pieced together for easy understanding.

HP is not necessarily the least or youngest of the group, indeed HP is the doyen of the group. The remaining 99 persons are divided into 3 sub-groups of 33 each, namely, A, B and C. The characteristic tendencies or feelings of the members of each sub-group towards HP are as follows.

Members of sub-group A want HP to live, that is to survive, prosper and excel. Members of sub-group B do not care if HP lives or dies. While members of sub-group C want HP not to excel, prosper or survive; they even want HP to die.

The 3 sub-groups are each further divided into 3 sub-sub-groups, made up of 11 persons each and labelled A1, A2 and A3; B1, B2 and B3; and C1, C2 and C3 respectively. For simplicity let us rename these sub-sub-groups as “ELEVENS”. That is, 9 teams of 11 people each.

A1 = TEAM 1st ELEVEN, A2 = TEAM 2nd ELEVEN, A3 = TEAM 3rd ELEVEN
B1 = TEAM 4th ELEVEN, B2 = TEAM 5th ELEVEN, B3 = TEAM 6th ELEVEN
C1 = TEAM 7th ELEVEN, C2 = TEAM 8th ELEVEN, C3 = TEAM 9th ELEVEN.

The feelings of members of each team towards HP can be analyzed in detail as follows:

TEAM 1st ELEVEN – Every member of this team wants HP to live, and will do anything legally possible to see HP survive, prosper and excel. They have the means, have no other priority above helping HP. They however need the cooperation of HP to continue. The parents of HP are hopefully in this team.

TEAM 2nd ELEVEN – Members of the TEAM 2nd ELEVEN want HP to live and will also do anything legally acceptable to help HP. They have the means to help, but have other priorities that override helping HP. They honestly hope to have less pressure so as to spare some time and resources for HP. They are even soliciting help from other people on behalf of HP.

TEAM 3rd ELEVEN – Members of the TEAM 3rd ELEVEN want to HP to live, and would do anything legally possible to help HP, but they have no means. They regularly and fervently pray for HP. They one day hope to be able to help when the economy improves.

TEAM 4th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 4TH ELEVEN though do not care whether HP lives or dies, yet may be persuaded to want HP to live by acceptable signals from HP. They may even celebrate HP’s successes if caught in the right moods, and may even contribute to the progress of HP.

TEAM 5th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 5th ELEVEN do not really care whether HP lives or dies. They may not even turn their heads or wave their hands when HP greets or walk by. To them, HP can go to hell or become the president of the United States of America.

TEAM 6th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 6th ELEVEN do not actually mind if HP lives or dies, but may be forced to join those that will kill HP if given the proper signal by HP. Just like the sight of HP was just being tolerated, and may as well be done away with if HP gives the wrong signal.

TEAM 7th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 7th ELEVEN want HP to live a miserable life and eventually die. They would love to kill HP now, but have no means to do so. They are therefore hoping that HP would personally walk into death at any time.

TEAM 8th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 8th ELEVEN want HP to die, they have the means to kill HP, but have other priorities. They are placing curses and other evil wishes and machinations to make HP personally end it all even now. They are even telling everybody whom they think can be of help in killing HP.

TEAM 9th ELEVEN – Members of TEAM 9th ELEVEN do not want HP to live, they want failures, disappointments and eventual death for HP. They have the means to kill HP, and have the desire to do it now, but they are waiting for HP to make the next wrong move. They need an alibi to justify killing HP.

Who is 100th Person?

HP is anybody out there. Indeed you are HP. I mean you, reading this write-up. You are the DOYEN of your group of hundred persons. If you can identify each or any member of your group of hundred persons around you, how would, you react? Given that you are not likely to have the whole group around you at the same time, which means that there would be representives of several elevens around you at the same time.

In fact everybody around you is from one of the nine groups of ELEVEN individuals. How would you manage this group to survive, prosper and excel in whatever you do?
