Telegram, one of the most used messaging apps after WhatsApp, has disappeared from the app store of Apple devices.

Neither Apple nor Telegram have explained the details of the incident, but in response to a tweet, the founder of the messaging application, Pavel Durov, has stated that it is a problem related to "inappropriate content".

According to Durov, Apple alerted them that inappropriate content had been detected in the network to which users had access and that is why they have eliminated the application, until protection mechanisms are introduced.

The failure in the mechanisms that block this type of content could be related to the recent launch of the new version, Telegram X. This application has been developed from scratch to get rid of the errors that Telegram has "accumulated over the years".

The Apple regulations for its application store include rules against offensive content that not only contemplate the information introduced by the developers, but also the content generated by the users of the application.

According to Apple, the regulations are designed to prevent messaging applications from being used as platforms to share pornographic content to launch physical threats or intimidate.

Pavel Durov assures that Telegram and Telegram X will be available again soon, once they have the protections. For now, users who have the application downloaded to their devices can continue using it and it is still available in the Android application store and in its web version.
