It's Rain, It's Been Awhile Since The Last Rain

So it rained in my city for some hours in the morning. We just haven't had any rain in a long while it seems. There is a place where the water runs off of the roof and I put a garbage can there to catch some water.

After I caught some water I put it on the more dryer looking areas of my grass. I think there was enough rain that I won't have to water the lawn tomorrow.

That is good as I don't really want to use too much water.

In the picture you see my 89 Nissan Sentra. Well it won't start now. There are a few things wrong with it and I never thought I would say this, but I am going to retire that car.

Well, it is now 30 years old and I owned it since later part of 1995. So I have owned this car for almost 24 years now. The body is still somewhat straight, but it is time.

Not only will it not start, but the last time I drove it, something was burning, like plastic burning in the stirring column. It might be a short. At that time I turned the car off and started it again and no smoking or smelling of burn plastic. I don't know if it is safe, plus right now it will not start. So I don't even want to sell it to anybody.

I would hate to think that someone was driving it and it went on fire. Maybe I will just sell it for the parts and metal.

Another thing I notice about the car is that only one of the two fans work. The one that works is the air conditioner fan and the regular radiator fan is off even on a hot day.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the heater needed fixing. Well, I won't have to fix it now.

Also the engine does leak oil and I was told that I should buy new tires when I can.

That got me thinking that maybe owning 3 vehicles might be too much for me now. So I will call my insurance guy pretty soon and have him or her, there are a group of them, discontinue the car insurance on my 89 Nissan Sentra.

This way I could save at least $400 a year on car insurance. I will also save about $130 each year by not renewing DMV car tags for the 89 Nissan Sentra.

So I will change my main car from the 89 Nissan Sentra to my 93 Honda Accord. So my 93 Honda Accord will be my main car from here on wards, where before I use to just use it when I went out of town. Well, that is what I told my insurance people before.

My secondary vehicle will be my 91 Chevy S10 pickup.

For many years I just had my 89 Nissan Sentra and when it broke down and it needed to be fixed I would rent a car for a short time. I don't want to rent cars anymore as it is expensive to do so. So the perfect alternative is to have a secondary car, if the main car needs to go into the shop.

Well, my 89 Nissan Sentra got me through a lot of tough times, but now it is time to be recycled. I thank my 89 Nissan Sentra for its service to me for all the years that I have owned it.

Let's end with a scripture, A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; Ecclesiastes 3:3.

Sad to see a car serving at this age go retired. The first car I ever drove was a 96 Nissan Sentra, love it till today even though is not everyone's favourite car.

Yes, keep it running as long as you can. Thank you @aaronleang!
