Who is to blame for Child Indiscipline: Government or Parents?

Dear Steemians,

It is too sad for words about our contemporary youth for the crimes and bad acts which keep grow rapidly. There are lot going on in our world today; it is very hard for some parents to boldly defend their children if at all they are accused of something bad. It is very hard to say that our contemporary community are free of violence and evil doer attitude. If you check daily news what we read was; stabbing, killing and murdered even among the so called children; boys and girls in our school.

Far back in the schools there is discipline; I remember in the past 80s and early 90s there were fear and disciplines in the heart of children; at that time if you came late to school you will be punished for such not to mentioned of did something bad at school, the teachers will disciplined you and sent you home to call your parents. But presently; reversed is the case, the more things advanced the more we allow modern life to direct the affair of the family and take away norms, culture and discipline from us which is affecting the community, society and the world at large.

We need to understand that the law and norms are not the same; some will run away and exiled from their country and when such individual were given opportunity to lead their country, they come with useless laws that could endanger our future; they tend to forget that what work for Mr. A might not work with Mr. B; it is the responsibility of a parent to raise their children decently and make them human being, but if any law restricts you to beat your child or discipline our child what can we call that?

Sometimes ago in one of our school, a teacher disciplined a student who always rude and dressed inappropriately to the school, after several warnings but no changes, the teacher beat him up and sent him home, few hours later, the boy returned with his parent and started fight with the teacher, if not for intervention of others teachers in the school, the teacher would had been beaten by the boy parent; in such ways we build our future where are we going?
Few years back; someone suggested that few police officers should be placed around the school premises for monitoring and checking children behavior every day and such officers should be given more money to be able to work hard or their pays/salary should increase.

Another suggested that; department, or government should trained unemployed parents for security and placed them on salary or remuneration for them to monitor learners in the school, and by doing that no learners will disrespect parents, as there would be rotation of duties among these trained parents which will make learners to desist from bad behavoiur in our various schools. But until now, none of the parent advices were taken seriously or considered, instead Bible-Quran teaching were withdrew from the schools and sex education was introduced, don’t quote me wrong, sex education was a bad idea, but you know what? When you failed to do the right things at the right time the results or consequences of such actions won’t be palatable at all; once the teaching of moral and discipline (Religion-Believe/Norms) was withdrew from the school; what left for us is to use human knowledge and wisdom to teach them (Children).

In conclusion; It is a parent responsibility to ensure that their children were thought Godly manner, or whatever you believe; because it will help to establish a fear and discipline in their heart, also, every parents should cooperate and join hands together to restore back norms and culture into every families, overall, parent should dedicate and make themselves available to trains their children irrespective of their busy scheduling.
