Of course, if you tell children they can be trans-gender they will do it. AND in the feminist families that do it, you can bet it won't be girls wanting to be boys or 'boyish'. It will be about encouraging boys to be more like girls.
I have no objection whatsoever to people doing what they want to, but this has an agenda, and that agenda involves children and mixing up their feelings when their hormones are starting to kick in. It's sick because it's plain-and-simple manipulation based on..... what? Some modern fad with no basis unless we are talking about extremely small percentages of people.
The sad fact is that this will soon be mainstream teaching in schools.
This is child abuse. Should be treated as such. One day the US may get back to normal, after the last 8 years of terror inflicted on us by the cuckoo liberal left.

You're damn right it's child abuse. Leftist nut jobs shoving their agenda down our throats. Sadly, I don't think we will ever get back to normal as very few people have the courage to stand up to this type of indoctrination.
I don't want to be pessimistic about this, but I fear it's too late. The media sees nothing wrong with it, teachers see nothing wrong with it and, more importantly, the new generation of young adults see it as progress. There's no way back.
The only thing I can think of is that those societies within societies that, for want of a better euphemism, 'progress' at a faster rate will see their own downfall and will allow others to see just how misplaced such an agenda is.
