How I feel after a month in Indonesia - Travel with #BeerSaturday @detlev
Traveling other countries
Travel to another country is fun. You never know what you will see, you don‘t know all that food and you maybe as well know all the different #beer.
The same is for wonderful Indonesia and the Traveller in me got all what he can expect.
BUT the beer lover was in trouble. Beneath one or two lucky day, beer is equal to Bintang in Indonesia.
So after a month traveling many islands like Bali, Gili Air, Lombok, Flores, Komodo, Rinca and Lembogan I felt exactly like this picture says.
Way to much Bintang
Don‘t get me wrong
Every beer was well earned from a day with traveling, diving, sweating somewhere in the sun and every beer was tasting good and gave a
refreshment together with some fun, but it was always a Bintang or let’s say the Indonesian Heineken wich means not a „bad“ beer but as well not something special.
Bintang in GIli Air
Yes, there is always some nice sea food at all the island. Here on Gili Air it was served at the great place called the Chill Out restaurant and it was served me with a Bintang.
Bintang at Echo Beach
The area around Canggu is another nice place at Bali and not as crowded as the Kuta or Legian beach. The whole spot feel a bit more relaxed and you guess what - they have Bintang.
Whenever it gets dark
You might go for a shower to get ready for some great night life. Or you stay a bit longer at the beach, watch how it is getting quite and have another Bintang
At my Hotel
After some salt water at the beach a quick shower and a jump into a pool it perfect. Even better as they had a bar close by the pool where there where different beers on the menu.
You know what? All where gone but Bintang
South of Lombok
There is a nice town called Kuta on Lombok and the surfing and diving is fine. So we went there and had some nice time relaxing at the beach and wondered a bit about the new build beach area with many new and fresh designed buildings and even a beach walk.
In the restaurant which is overlooking the beach, we did a little rest and had a Bintang for refreshing.
On the boat st Komodo
We went diving and as well visiting the dangerous huge dragons at the Komodo National Park. As all this is exhausting you need something cold and what is better than a cold beer. A look into the fridge of our vessel and I found some cold drinks together with a Bintang
This one was delivered to some friends us to overcome the heat at the sea.
The next beach
Around the next corner you may have the next island as Indonesia has on it 1,904,569 square kilometres of land altogether 13466 island. There are over 261 million people living in that country.
Indonesia is the world's 14th largest country in terms of land area and the 7th largest in terms of combined sea and land area. See more at Wikipedia about Indonesia
At the next beach at the next island it was damn hot again and there was a Bintang with a cold glass already waiting for me.
Finally from the Gili island
As being there first time at 1992 on a longer trip, visiting the Gilis is still worth going. This are three little islands close to Bali where Gili Tarswangan aka Gili T is the main party island and Gili Meno is more for nature and honeymooners while Gili Air is for families and traveller who want to relax.
Getting thirsty be walking the island (there are no cars) I ended up at a bar to have a drink - and you already know it - they had a Bintang for me.
A offer I couldn’t resist
Walking the east coast of the island there was this remarkable offer for such a cheap beer the I had to take it.
I guess everyone who did not left school after the first grade would do the same
SMILE AND DRINK
Bali and a Bali Hai
So the other day I luckily found a Bali Hai but this was not much different.
Accept what you get
After a while I just didn’t though about other beer and just had one a day to keep the beer feeling at all.
