TIME TO STOP SMOKING

There's a lot of reasons why people smoke and some of it are for relaxation, distressing, peer pressure and more. Some will somehow find smoking a cool act regardless of the things that it can do to our body.

We are all aware what a single stick can do to our body yet we still inhale the smoke that we think our body needed because factly, a cigarette is addictive and at the same time, toxic.

Do you know that cigarette has 7,000 chemicals? A study shows that over 60 of the chemicals are known for poisonous and can cause cancer. One of the most known chemicals in a stick is the Nicotine.
As we all know, nicotine is the most addictive drug and it is the reason why you can't stop easily on smoking. The sticks also contains carbon monoxide which is the poisonous colorless gas.
Tar also exist as the ingredient of cigarette which is the brown substance that collects in your lungs and can cause CANCER.

Afraid now? Cigarettes are for me a suicide stick because all possible chemicals that can kill a person is mixed into one and formed as a stick

I've been smoking for almost a year because of depression. It became my outlet and my daily routine. I usually smoke 11-15 sticks per day and was so addicted to the point that it became my life. I became so dependent on a stick even if I knew that it is so disgusting for a girl to smoke.

Since I let my depression ate me, I'd drowned so much and entered a hell life. I'd been drinking too much and smoking a lot. I was so hopeless but smoke became my company since then, I was addicted.

Addiction is a very hard thing to cope up. It takes a lot of guts, effort, and energy to go through it. It never easy to get out of that subject.

I started in the year 2016 and it really feels like I was doing the right thing. For me, it is the best way of relaxing myself and running from reality. Never think of how it can ruin my body and life, I kept on smoking until the day I noticed how dull my skin and skinny I was.

Since I am a dancer, I thought that it is okay for me to have a bad habit because I have extreme exercise but it turns out that it can also ruin my career and would cause more. Months passed by, I noticed that my breathing cycle is already changing and the color of my eyes are slowly turning into dirty white. I was losing so much weight and became malnourished. diagnosed with unhealthy lungs and severe cough. Still, I didn't mind those but continue to smoke.

When I was smoking at the standby area for students which is just near to our University, I saw a girl smoking by her own while talking to someone on her phone. I suddenly saw myself in her and I was so disgusted, Asked myself if that's the kind of girl I want to be. It synced to my mind that what I'm doing is a pure suicide. I am killing myself slowly and not noticing it.

I was totally determined to change everything and stop what I am doing but it was so hard. So, I was going pull and push about quitting. I have gone through every possible way to stop and change myself but it needs full motivation and dedication.

Until then, I found a very creative solution when I was craving for a stick. Instead of buying some and start inhaling 7,000 chemicals, I turned it to buying ice cream and then eating candy every single time I crave. It took me almost half a year to control and fully quit the addiction. but again, It was so hard. I failed so many times but didn't give up on it. I was so determined to heal myself and start a new life.

Now, I am so much healthy and living life to a positive way. It was a lesson learned for me, in addition to my expreciences. Even if my friends who still smoke up until now invites me, I have the full discipline to decline their offer.

After successfully stopped my bad habits, it feels really good and my body came back to normal. I also maintained some healthy way of living to keep my body the way it is. Sometimes, you gotta discipline yourself and stand up. Not all people will help us but you it is guaranteed that only ourselves can save us.

This is me, before and after picture from left to right. As what you can see, I gained weight and my skin becomes much clearer and more vibrant. It would really make you a whole new you if you quit your bad habits and turn to healthy ways.

Loving myself by becoming healthy is the greatest gift I've ever given to myself. I suggest to all the readers who are still smoking to please stop and love your system. It is the only thing you have so please take care of it while it's not too late.

Stop and love your body. Have time to think and stop killing every single cell on your treasure.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE
