This is true! Actually it's a long tendon of Palmaris longus muscle, which is absent in approx. 15% individuals. It is a very weak flexor of wrist, and used mostly for tendon grafting. It has become somewhat vestigial with genetic evolution. Still a very few organisms, who share common ancestors with humans, do have it's active function.
(P.S Most of you who couldn't find tendon, that may be due to extra fat deposition or muscle mass in arm 😀)
