**Life in Majuli (India) .A baptisation-like-ritual performed in the Assamese society today.I was invited to witness the ritual which I thought to share with my steemit friends.The ritual is a part of the Vaishnavite religion -a reformed religion of the Hindu society that got birth in Assam centuries ago.
It is very different kind of ritual for me. I have not seen it before. Thanks for sharing with steemians.
Thanks for your comment.After this ritual the one who is baptised has to live a disciplined life in the society--respect the elders, not to indulge in violence, avoid bad habits , etc, etc.
every place has it own rituals. We all believe in that. Nice photography by you.
