RE: Really Trying To Ignore These Fortunes, But...

in #life7 years ago

It's kinda hard for me to give any advice about finding jobs since I've had one without break for 15 years now (fu*$% I'm old).
So, I haven't really looked for a job for a long time, but I did have a period in my life when for one reason or another I've jumped into freelancing.
It started as a joke, soon become a challenge and is still going on but with minimum effort on my part.
Maybe that could be something to look into. I've started on Elance which is now Upwork, and after a few months of hard work for pennies, I've "grown" so much that I had to get a VA just to keep up with everything and I was bringing in weekly what I was getting at my "real job" for 4-5 hours of work.
It's a hard market but if you work hard and do a good job, you can make a name of yourself and soon jobs just come pouring in.
I've dropped almost everything about a year ago or something, because, well because I'm lazy and I value my free time more than money.
Now I just have one client - who made me a partner and I don't do much and some $ do drips in every week. And it's waaay more profitable than what I get here on Steemit.

Well, for someone who didn't think they'd have advice, I like what you gave me. I think Upwork is a place to check out. I'd like to try my hand at something like that, but again, I think for my wife there's an immediacy of return that is required. Something that starts paying within a few weeks of starting the work.

At any rate, I'm going to check into it, as well as to continuing looking elsewhere. I need to do something. Steemit wasn't made to crank out the earnings after 80 hours of work. :)
