The importance of self-awareness

What is self-awareness?

The ability to recognize one’s emotions, internal states, preferences, resources and intuition.
Have you ever wondered how your friends, co-workers , and family really see you? Or wondered if you are seeing yourself for who you really are?

Research shows that people who ask themselves these questions are happy, more successful and more confident than those who don’t. The unfortunate truth is even if you think you know how you come to other people, the odds are your perceptions are wrong!

We are leaving a world where people rarely tell us the truth about how they see us. So how can we become more self-aware? Asking people around you and creating a save zone for them to actually tell you, about you from their perspective, and it’s on you to create that save place for them to tell you things which you may not want to hear. Ultimately, if you hear enough people actually say you are too kind or too rude or you are too aggressive etc. eventually, you need to adjust.

Getting people to tell you about what they really think about you is important, really seek out that feedback and then be woman or man enough to accept their feedback

I think one of the greatest skills we should have as human beings is the ability to be honest with ourselves, being able to do a 100% inner most audit of our inner self and try to find out why we are the way we are!

In order to be successful in life you have to cultivate the habit to be honest with yourself, you have to cultivate the deep sense of self awareness. If we are not willing to say “I am good at these things and I am not very good at this things”, “Here is where I want to develop” because if we can’t take an accurate out of where we are, we can’t get to where we want to be, because we don’t know where we are starting.
