Network with Other Creators During the DUnite Buddy Challenge #2

A Brief Intro to the Buddy Challenge

We've introduced a unique way for members of the DUnite group to become more successful week after week! Our first week received tons of positive feedback, but we wanted to make a few improvements before we brought the challenge back for round two. Here's everything you'll need to know and how to sign up.

What is the Buddy Challenge?

Simply put, it's an activity in which members of DUnite will be placed into groups of 2-3 streamers/content creators based on size, content, and timezone. The goal of these groups will be to network and support the other members of the group. After being paired together it'll be your job to:

  • Get to know the other content creators in the group
  • Watch and comment on each other's streams
  • Resteem each other's posts
  • Upvote each other
  • Do collaborations
  • Shout out each other
  • And find any other way to support other group members throughout the week.

How it works:

First and foremost, you need to understand that this isn't a free ride to more followers, viewers, or upvotes. Additionally, this program is only for video creators and streamers. If you only write blog posts, sorry, but this isn’t for you.

To partake in the DUnite Buddy Challenge, you must have a willingness to network and provide value to the other streamers in your group.

You should go into the buddy challenge with the intent to network with and get to know other streamers. With that said, here's how it works.

When the challenge opens up, we'll put up a post announcing sign ups for the buddy challenge. If you want to partake, you'll need to do the following:
Join our discord. This will be how we communicate which group you are in, so it's necessary you're part of the DUnite discord.
Each Buddy Challenge will have a link to a form. Fill that out and ensure the information within is correct.

Be sure to contribute. If it's found that you routinely fail to contribute to your small group, you'll be blocked from participating in the challenge in the future.

Once you've signed up and are in the discord, you'll be sorted into a small group of streamers who are similar in size, time zone, and content. Small group members will be announced 3 days after the post is published, and you'll spend the next 2 weeks getting to know and helping out the other members of your group.

We listed a few ways you can network above but we'll put a full list of ideas for networking and supporting each other here:

  • Hop on a group call using discord and have each member of the group share their story of how they got to where they are in streaming
  • Join each other's streams as a viewer and spend time chatting on stream.
  • Squad up in a game and stream simultaneously, shouting out the other streamer during your streams.
  • Follow each other on Steem and other social platforms.
  • Reshare each other's posts.
  • Upvote each other's content.
  • Leave feedback at the end of the week with 1 thing you liked about their stream and 1 thing you felt they could improve on.

But these are just the ideas that we thought up. We'd love to see you share your unique ideas for working together and promoting each other!

Changes for Challenge 2

In response to feedback from week 1, we’re implementing a few changes to the second version of Buddy challenge. First and foremost, the challenge will be longer - you’ll have 2 weeks to network with, and help the other streamers in your group grow.

Second, we’re going to be reaching out to members on discord first to confirm their participation before placing them in a group. If you do not respond to our confirmation message on discord, you won’t get into a group so it’s important you keep an eye out for it. This will help to ensure everyone within a group will be active before placement.

Feedback from Buddy Challenge Week 1:

@cgbartow

We started by checking out each other’s streams, dropping by and hanging out. After, we had a chat in discord about how we would coordinate our group stream and continued to support each other over the course of the week. Game day we set up a dual fortnite stream in which both of us sucked. We got 2 kills and died every game over and over however over the 2 hrs of dying and hack and slash with some pew pew I think I made one of the best friends i will have for a long time on the Steem platform.

Sign up for Buddy Challenge 2

With the basics covered, it's time to open sign ups for the second Buddy Challenge! As we mentioned above, step 1 is to join our discord if you aren't in it already..

Step 2 is to fill out this form. Don't worry, it's only 5 questions!

Once that's done, step 3 is to look for our confirmation message on discord. This is important as you won’t be placed if you do not respond.

I'm ready, who wants to do the buddy challenge with me? :)

I'm in ! :D Love that challenge

hmm sounds interesting. anybody playing Heroes of the Storm to team up with me / get carried by me? ;-)

Sounds like an interesting initiative. Even though I am purely a blogger, I am always happy to see initiatives the promote engagement within the different areas of the greater Steemit ecosystem. Much success to you!

Anyone live in Central time zone and need a buddy? :)
