Applied call center agent for technical support

I don't know why everything I do fails. I keep thinking what did I do wrong? Is God punishing me? My life has been a mess and thanks to my daughter who makes it easy. She makes her mommy smile of all the burdens she's carrying inside her heart and mind.

I am this close of losing my mind but I keep assuming that this is just a challenge of my life that I can resolve easily. I just need to think, and try to believe in myself that I can give my daughter a better future.

I want my daughter to say that "I want to be like my mom someday! "

So here I am trying my hardest...

I applied a job yesterday to 2 different companies, Alorica and Teleperformance.

There are 28 applicants with me in Alorica applying call center agent for customer service and technical support. I applied to be a call center agent for technical support, then I passed the initial interview. During the mid interview test in actual computer, unluckily, I mistaken the first out of 28 questionare by accidentally clicked the mouse over the button "exit". Their mouse is too fast and sensitive. I talked politely to the girl(interviewer) to please let me retake it because It was an accident.
Then her respond is, "sorry I can't do anything with your mistake!"

After the test, I went back to the lobby and waited.

A little while past, they called my name to say that I failed. I already expected that would happen because I accidentally skipped that 28 questions. Such a shame.
I felt awful.

When I went out, I didn't give up. I thought of my daughter and that gave me the energy to continue this challenge.
I decided to continue the application.

Walking walking walking..... until I reached the other company I know. The Teleperformance...

When I went in, I saw 12 applicants waiting for the interviewer. I passed my resume fast so I can be with them on the interview.

When we are all done, the interviewer told the other applicants "Thank you for your time but sorry you all failed except (my name)."

She told me to please sitdown and will call me when it's ready for the second interview.

I was very happy, it built my hopes up. "Yay! "

Typing test, communicating test, personality test, and listening skill test for mid test done!

I passed and perfected most of it.

Finals was coming, I was very nervous as I saw this woman(interviewer) stared at me looking angry.

I got this pauses and fillers which is destroyed my final interview.

I failed.... Again! Shame!

When I went home, there's a thought came in to my mind...
"oh shit! I really need to improve myself before confidently go and apply again."

I was disappointed of myself. I felt like I disappoint my baby too but saw her at home rushing herself to hug me and her big smile when she saw me made me feel better.

Lesson I've learned from that experience

I've learned that everyone have a problems and challenges in their life either, so next time don't think that I am carrying this big bag like I'm the only one who's suffering. Next time, believe and smartly think about the solutions and don't give up trying.

Will do a lot of effort and patience.

I will continue the application when I know that I got better and confident that they will hire me.
I will try my best to learn and improve the problems in my speaking(fillers, pauses and probably my grammar).

While learning my English speaking, I'll post in steemit daily and I hope that I'll do great atleast here in this platform.

Anyway, here's a new photo and video of my daughter, she's growing fast! It's her 10months day yesterday so we had a great dinner in TGI Fridays to celebrate.

Failure is the key to success and persistence is the path. Your experience was beautiful in that you did not blame the situation but looked to yourself to improve, I appreciate that much. Change the self and the situation has no choice but to change. These jobs were not the right time for you. Something better awaits. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Hey. Thank you for being appreciative. Yeah, blaming others for my own mistake isn't my style. I am hoping something better will come ^_^
My pleasure to share a slice of my life 😊

I worked for this company before. About 7 years ago

Which one?

i worked for alorica about 9 years ago, it was a great experience im glad i went through but i won't go back lol.

Why won't go back? ^_^

call center isn't for me, im more of a builder type. i did enjoy working there, but i have a hard time taking a pissed off customer, resolving their issue, and sell them something. I was able to execute this but i wasn't able to do it in the handling time they wanted.

yeah with Steem booming blogging regularly is a great idea.
actually Vlogging with Dtube might help you improve your spoken English, and there's some Whale curators there.
and don't beat yourself about the interview. that woman with angry attitude surely doesn't help candidates feel comfortable and give their best.
something tells me if the interviewer had been a man you'd be hired! ;P
maybe that woman was jealous! XD

Thank you very much for that sweet thoughts!
Yeah! that girl made me feel nervous lol but to be honest, I really do have pauses and fillers that is not what company is looking for. I respect their decision. I will try again when I am better. :)
I might try vlogging too ^^

Your opening line tells it all “I don’t know why everything I do fails”

Change your internal dialogue. Do didn’t fail, you nearly succeeded! You have successfully got a bueautiful daughter, you are a successful mother, you have a successful life, you are just one skip away from getting the job.

Wether you realise it or not, your inner thoughts radiate outwards. Think positively to have positive outcomes.

As Henry Ford once said - “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”

The next one is yours. You just need to believe that.

Good luck.

And that! Yeah I think negatively too. I should change it. Thanks for advices. ^_^

@earisu such an authentic story you have shared! what you have undergone can be frustrating; but the way you dealt with it is inspiring-- you shook it off and moved on :)

Thank you @lemonchum. I'll keep trying. ^_^

that was mean of that one girl and also the interviewer.. but i think she was purposely trying to throw u off.. no worries.. LABAN!

Lol maybe. Thanks chinito and happy New Year to you and family.

Happy New Year! Hang in there :)

"oh shit! I really need to improve myself before confidently go and apply again."

No. You need to always improve yourself, and always try again. If you stop to tie your shoe, you'll lose the race.

Those who succeed aren't always the best, but the ones that keep trying.

That! Good point. :)

Keep trying and don't give up!

Thanks to @chiefmappster, this article was resteemed and highlighted in today's edition of The Daily Sneak.

Thank you for your efforts to create quality content!

You probably make more from Steemit then at a call center. Less stressful too!

Hey @cloh. Long time. Yeah you have a point. I just wanted to learn new things aswell and i feel like money here isn't stable. Sometime you get upvotes, sometimes not. But yeah, i'm trying to post more here. ^^
