Drama Llama Adventure Story: Don't Marry Questionable People

in #life7 years ago

Hey steemers! This is Echo Cadence bringing you a super special and juicy drama llama story with a big fat tip: DON'T MARRY PEOPLE WHO ARE QUESTIONABLE!

I know that the word, "questionable" can be taken into a number of different ways depending on your perspective, so allow me to ellaborate. My definition of "questionable" for this post DOES NOT include or involve race, gender, familial background or history, or level of wealth.

So, what do I mean by "questionable"? Buckle up your seat belts my dears and make sure that your coffee cup is filled, for it is story time!

I know of a very sweet and endearing man who has worked very hard his entire life to make a great life for his wife and children. Through clever business dealings and an honest heart, he climbed the corporate ladder and is at a great position at the company and quiet deservedly earns a giant paycheck! Good for him, right?

Sadly, his wife of 40 plus years passed away about five years ago and devastated him, his children, and grandchildren for they were a very close knit family. He eventually entered back into the dating world and dated various women on and off, but nothing so serious to concern his adult children right away.

And then the Rebecca Nation attacked.

Two years ago, around Thanksgiving the man had informed his family that he met the most wonderful woman on Match.com who is so creative and kind, and he wanted her to meet his beloved family. Granted, none of the children were thrilled that the man could ever meet someone that would overshadow their mother, but they honestly wanted their father to be happy; if this woman made him happy and was as good as he claimed to be, then they were sure that they would like her as well.

It didn't quiet turn out like that. Not at all. Not even a bit.

When the family met Rebecca, she seemed nice and genuine at first. And then she began to talk about herself, and only herself. Alarm bell #1 began to ring loudly in the family's head, but they chose to overlook it for the moment, for maybe Rebecca was just nervous meeting the family.

Alarm bell #2 began to screech across the household when she began to say certain terms and phrases that placed her as a member of the family, like "family gatherings" "family picnics" "family activities" and "family banquets". This woman just started dating their father!

Alarm Bell #3 began to vibrate across the whole room when she told us her profession. Rebecca was a Paleontologist, which is really cool, but here's the thing; she's a volunteer and spends the majority of her time asking others for donations for projects. Which is cool too, but the problem with that was that SHE JUST STARTED DATING THEIR FATHER, WHO IS WEALTHY, AND SAID THAT SHE IS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT 5 EXHIBITIONS THAT HE WILL BE SPONSORING FOR HER.

Guys, this was all in one day of meeting the Rebecca.

The family had decided that they did not like Rebecca one bit, but weren't too worried at the time, firmly believing that the older man would eventually come to his senses and end the relationship.

How wrong they were.

A few months into their relationship, she convinced him to purchase a summer house at a remote fishing location, which they have only used a slim number of times. She convinced him to go on a number of lavish vacations with her and purchase a number of things, such as luxury cars, treatments, and such that was so out of character for him.

Rebecca was so sly and manipulative at pulling away the older man from his family, that by the time that his children were trying to warn him away from the woman he stopped listening to them.

Early in 2017, they had wedded in the presence of only their closest friends, completely upsetting the grandfather's family for not inviting them. However, they did say that only their friends were invited; thus, they have no reason to be upset, right?

WRONG!!! This is where I come in~

When I was struggling with my Facebook addiction and scrolling through the endless posts, I saw one of their wedding pictures, but thought that something was really off. The "friends" that they had invited looked an awful lot like Rebecca.

When I showed the member of the family that post, they were so mad! That was Rebecca's family! O.O Can you scream drama? Well, get ready to screech it, because it gets worse!

Apparently, Rebecca had blocked EVERYONE from her newly wedded husband's family off of social media EXCEPT for me... and I'm not technically in the family. It doesn't make a lick of sense. You can imagine the extreme hurt that the man's family felt at that action, and he supposedly "had a talking" with his wife, and she graciously unblocked everyone from the devil's site.

After that fiasco, she used her willy charm on him to take her on a $20,000 honeymoon to Europe, and once they returned back home, Rebecca convinced her husband to allow her to give their house a facelift and redecorate. Apparently her definition of "redecorating" is putting all of the man's deceased wife's things in trash bags, "accidentally" breaking the man's family's mother's valuables by putting them at the bottom of the bags, and hand them over to his family.

Then, they decided to host a reception party for their wedding... which happened about three months before we received the reception party invitation. But no matter, we all went... and we were promptly given ugly looks from everyone on her side of the family, ignored by the happily married couple, and were freaked out by the pictures they put on display.

Okay, so let me explain the layout here so that you can imagine this nightmare, for I'm NOT gonna post those pictures on here. The reception had a bunch of tables scattered through out the restaurant and on each table was a picture. About 75% of the pictures were of the man and Rebecca, 24% of the pictures were of Rebecca's family, and the 1% of the pictures that belonged to the man's family was just weird! It was of their oldest grandson and youngest granddaughter, who claimed that the picture of her was from Instagram that she posted over 3 years ago. O.O

This entire situation is a nightmare escalating into a freak show, and it reached it's crescendo on the day that the latest Star Wars movie hit theaters. Rebecca had messaged the man's daughter and had said that she knows that they have their differences, but she would love for them to put those behind them for the Christmas season. That sounds sincerely nice right? Well, it crumbles from there.

She continues that the daughter has broken her father's heart by not accepting their marriage and that she is, and I quote, "Perplexed by what went wrong," stating that she didn't understand why she didn't like her. She ended the email stating that she would love for the daughter's family to come down for Christmas and spend some time with her father, but states that her husband has no idea that she's messaging his family and requested from the daughter to keep it quiet.

Well, the man's daughter ever so politely told Rebecca to kindly fuck off, and that she herself is "perplexed" that Rebecca doesn't understand how NO ONE in the family wants to be around her, and how hurt she was that her father's family wasn't invited to the wedding, treated so rudely at the reception, and then in great detailed explained how angry she was at how Rebecca treated her mother's things.

The wax peeled off of Rebecca's face and the ugly demon came out and her true colors were revealed. It was glorious.

So, the daughter then forwarded the entire conversation to her father, who at first insisted that the daughter is making it up. Then after being told off by his son, his son's wife, the man's older relatives, and even his oldest grandson, he slightly came to his senses and had a long, in depth conversation with Rebecca who has since replaced her broken wax mask with an apologetic one.

I can go on and on and on and on about all of the dirty details of this drama, but I'm going to leave it there. As you can see from my drama llama story, marrying someone that's questionable is not a good idea, especially if you family can hear the alarm bells before you do.

I'm not saying to rely on your family to make decisions on who you can love for you; I'm saying don't marry someone that is so obviously pulling your family apart. Don't marry someone that will pull you away from your children or parents if you're close to them. You're so much better than that and deserve to be with someone that will love you and your family and will take the time to get to know your family instead of demanding that your family love them right now.

What do you think of this juicy drama llama story? Do you have any advice for the man who probably made the biggest mistake of his life? How should his family act towards Rebecca? Any comments or ideas that you can think of to help this family is definitely appreciated, for I'm all out of ideas here!
