The Hunt For Unobtainium

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Unobtainium

This quest is not for the Unobtainium Coin but the ultimate source of energy and inovation. Its for the search of Unobtainium, a theorized element that could one day unlock new innovations and propel the human race to new frontiers.
It is also the element that humans were looking for in the popular movie Avatar. (2009 film)

Back To The Present

If you look around at our current world you see a lot of greed, lust for power and control of natural resources, wars...

If there was an alternate source of unlimited energy, it would most certainly affect the oil companies and the ones who benefit from it. Perhaps there would be less wars and less instability in the world.

Fusion

Kurzgesagt ("We are a small team of like minded people who want to make science look beautiful.")

Thoughts (echoes)

If fusion reactors became feasibly manageable, would oil companies and its benefactors be happy?
I assume they wouldn't as it takes money away from their bottom line.

If so, would any other competing and upcoming technology or company be as much as of threat?
Companies such as Tesla who now produces cell batteries, solar panels, and electric cars.

What will happen when the 20th century source of energy of choice better known as oil goes down?
Would it have to be at a gradual rate?
so we don't have angry folks saying that there are no more good paying jobs in the oil industry.

Or will we suck dry the Earth out of its precious mineral, oil?

Sooner than later oil wont be soo precious. The pricing in happened 2years ago when oil crashed.
Oil isnt as rare as we once thought, and with this shift into renewable energy, its only a matter of time before oil is obsolete.
Under 2$ / gallon today -Hopefully i wont have to buy it in the future
