Celtic Boar chefs knife
Helloo steemers :D just want to share with you one of my last works.
As said in my introduction i make knives, i mostly just do what i like and recently i jumped in to kitchen knives.
Also the first time in a while a took a custom order, kinda a nightmare for most makers.
this is a 100% sole authorship product, al all of the blades i make.
i shape, grind, heat treat the steel myself, the wood is been sourced at a local lumber yard and stabilized under vacuum with heat curing resin by me.
the wood chosen this time is a nice and simple curly maple that i stabilized but also double died to add some colour to the final product.
some numbers :D
blade made out of N690 3 mm
overall length: 33 cm
blade length: 21 cm
ground flat to convex
stainless steel pins
as you can see i carved a boar on the blade near my logo by customers request, the template/source i used was a pictish boar carving
the wooden saya was carved out of some iroko boards, quite a light wood and the retaining pin is bade out of olive wood burl
so far the costumer is quite happy :D and so am i.
hope you like this kind of content :)
till next time

Nice! ;)
Are you good in cooking too? xD
i am not bad, i can put together a full meal for a larger family.
i love to cook food on charcoal, big pot for stews or a peka(balcan system of cooking) rediscover old ways :D
do you like to cook? are you good at it? xD
Sounds great! ;)
I was right! I think there is no italian who doesn't know how to cook! ;)
I like it too! I guess I am good cause my family and friends says that I'm ready to marry and my husband will not starve (that's a kind of traditional way to say that food you cooked is delicious) xD
i'm a Croatian xD
lol thats a nice way to say you can cook xD
Damn! xD What a shame!!! lol
What can I do if I know only what I see written and I just tried to use it! :P haha
Anyway! I am happy you liked the compliment :D At least I tried! xD
and as long you are living in Italy you should start feeling italian mania to cook xD
been in italy for the last 17 years so the culture and the diet mixed with the one we had, still Mediterranean but now it just got a bit wider with a larger choice of dishes xD
;) That's great!
@originalworks
Even though I've seen this one before I must say it is stunning. How did you carve the boar?
ehehe i will repost some older work as now i am doing more experimental stuff that sometimes just gets binned in the scrap.
i actually etched the boar with a battery charger 12v and scratched the figure on a layer of nail polish. nightmarish job especially as is done on the finished blade xD
