will power.. And how can we get more?

in #life7 years ago

Hi guys and gals!!

So recently ive started dieting (start of many!)
Ive noticed over time my will power is SHOCKING!! im starting to think is it just me? An i just unable to diet for longer than a week?
I mean i smokes for 9 years and quit very quickly and easily.. yet dieting is HARD!!
Surely will power should be needed for both and both smoking and dieting should be just as hard!

What are your thoughts?

Are you a I CAN or I CANT do it kind of person?

FACTS ABOUT WILL POWER

1: monitoring progress improves will power.
Seeing results is a good way to boost will power. It makes you see how well you have done and makes you not want to ruin it by eating all those cakes!!

2: apparently glucose plays a huge part in your will power, low glucose levels = poor will power and desision making.. when your levels are tip top you are more likely to feel up to making these damn hard choices better!!

3: being organised can boost will power. meals, snacks and exercise. I find that when i acctually do diet and i have set meals planned i have way more will power. You can make a meal exciting just by using colour and healthy alternatives!
Keeping a diary and always making sure you have meals in that are healthy!!

4: seeing your reflection makes you want to lose weight! I for one hate the way i look and i have noone but myself to blame. (I can no longer blame the baby weight seeing as though shes 6 years old haha)
Sometimes a quick talking to yourself is all thats needed for a little boost

5: finding the right people to talk to and be around. People who are fit and eat healthy are the best people to be around. A role model lets say.
My partner eats great and his mind is set on losing weight. Granted i do do as i please half the time but when we diet together we make meals together and its great!
Plus workimg in a gym environment and having that energy around me helps 👍
There is no reason why i shouldnt be a super model with a hot bod right now!!!

You are probably addicted to eating. I would suggest you to never eat just for the joy of it, but only when you feel really hungry, very hungry. And I suggest also you to do intermittent fasting, since it is so detoxifying. Good post.

Thats what me and my partner are doing. I mean hes fit as a fiddle where as me.. not so much. He eats 6 hours a day and the rest nothing but water etc. I am doing somthing very similar. Its good, im able to do it but it gets to 10pm and im gut wrenchingly STARVING! Its a good thing to do. The longer i do it the better. The best thing about working in a gym environment is i get good tips and health advice. Plus my partner helps to :)

Thankyou for your comment its much appretiated :)
