RE: Really Trying To Ignore These Fortunes, But...

If so, I need to consider, too, if it's challenging or a waste of my talents.

Just my two cents here. Even if writing is your profession, I think it would be wise to find an employment that offers steady pay and still keep yourself occupied on Steemit as a secondary or "productive" hobby.

Or, you need to start doing what others are doing to get visibility on the platform. Perhaps even look into other chains similar to Steemit to see if you could dip in multiple wells.

Thanks for your two cents, @enforcer48. I wouldn't call writing my profession really, since Steemit is essentially the first time in a 30 year or so attempt to make it be my profession that I'm actually getting anything for doing it. That might be a little unfair considering I owned and published two weekly newspapers for 15 years and did occasionally write something for them.

At any rate, the two cents is well taken. I'm kind of at that age where I could probably fill a number of working roles. I feel like I have more options than just the minimum wage jobs at my disposal, and I feel like I should be looking at whatever might be the best fit.

As for getting visibility on the platform, what are you referring to specifically? And which chains are you considering similar enough to STEEM that are already up and running and paying out?

I don't know about running. I know EOS has Ono in development. YoYoW is another one in the making.

As for visibility, you have some legitimate options:

  1. Start using bid bots
  2. Buy votes
  3. Get involved in different communities through Discord
  4. Utilize certain tags to get random/consistent upvotes

I'm sure there are more, including shady options, but it's a free platform. You can do whatever, but consequences aren't guaranteed.
